I am in the very fortunate position at the moment (three adult household, all working full time) of not having to be overly cautious at the price of groceries (although I am very aware that the amount being handed over at the checkout every week is going up and up).
I think the bread I like is about £1.45 a loaf, and I know, from buying milk for the office that a four pint bottle is just over £1.
I have just reverted back to buying proper butter, having used olive spread for years, and nearly expired on the spot when I saw the price of it! I now make sure to stock up when I see it on offer.
