How much is a loaf of bread?

Lucky old you not having to bother as to how much groceries cost, you must have a few bob, however it is lazy not to check on prices.

Refreshing answer {perhaps}. Here a bagette is 35 cents, but an 800 gram wholewheat loaf is 1.99 in Lidl, {yes, we do have them in France thank goodness} or when on special offer 1.69.

I notice he price of all food shopping! As on a tight budget even though we're both working! Must be nice not to know though happy days' love aldi!!!

I am bad at knowing what usual prices are. If I see butter or cheese on offer I stock up. I buy GF bread for my brother and that is far more than ordinary bread!!

The point I was clumsily trying to make is that many of us, not necessarily exclusively those who have enough money not to care, dont keep track of food prices anymore. I do my grocery shop on line and I tend to spend roughly the same each week although the items differ from week to week.

Not a clue and never have known. I don't know the price of milk either. I just asked my DH though and he knew exactly how much for both. He says it's a good job he doesn't give me housekeeping money

Mine`s 55p a loaf, Tesco`s toastie loaf.

Warburton's small seeded loaf £1 in Sainsburys this week, but that was a special offer.

Aldi's 5 Seeded loaf is 55p and delicious. The Saturday granary loaf from the local baker is £1.20 and worth every penny.

Unsure about prices because there are so many different kinds to buy these days, and we just buy whatever looks tasty at the time.

I was buying bread yesterday in the Coop and wondering why similar looking loaves varied so much in price, so yes, I have an awareness of how much bread costs.

I also make quite a lot of my own bread. I have never priced it up but it's probably about 75p a loaf and of course much nicer!

I make ours and use Allinsons strong wholemeal plus some white. About £1.80 for 1.5 kg. This makes 3 good sized loaves.
(2lb tins.)
So with the cost of a few other ingredients and fuel, about £1 a loaf.

No idea these days. I can remember buying a miniature Hovis loaf for 2d when I was a child - I'd eat it on it's own with no butter. I love Sainsbury's multi seeded loaf too especially when it's fresh - it's nutty and chewy - yummy with thick butter. No wonder clothes don't fit any more

No idea, DH makes it in the breadmaker using Waitrose flour. I know our local bakers are quite pricey, so I think he saves us a lot of money.

We have a local bakery and some of their loaves are over £2.50. OK if it's for something special but not every day toast and the like.

I'm with KatyK - it must be nice to have enough money to not even notice the cost of a loaf of bread

85p for a small Hovis granary in Tesco - DGS eats the dry crust for a treat ?

£2 for a sliced white sourdough which I keep in the freezer and take one slice at a time.

I try to buy our bread in an independent local bakery, they have put their prices up 3 times this year. A small white bloomer is £1.20, a small multi seed is £1.55.

Sometimes I buy the Aldi best of both (GC like it) and I think it's about 56p.

All home made here. Either spelt sourdough or a keto recipe

My partner does our grocery shopping so I only have a vague idea. I think the small warburtons sliced brown loaf he eats is 80p.

I rarely eat bread, it is usually a weekend treat and then I prefer a nice bap. About 75p for a pack of 6.
