Happy birthday Alygran. flowers I think a lot of us empathise with you waking up alone on your birthday - Christmas morning too. I don't think we ever get used to it. Have a lovely day and enjoy your cake! cupcake

Happy Birthday alygran flowers sorry I missed that earlier.

I know exactly how you feel about "that place" gillybob I had the same feelings before I retired and just always looked forward to the weekends. Hope you have a good one.

gillybob Fri 21-Sept-18 09:29:24

A late good morning check in from me . A wet and wild night here on the NE coast. I have had very little sleep and a steaming cold and could do with a day in bed.....no chance . At least it’s Friday and I can escape “that place” for 2 whole days .

Have a good one everyone .

Good Morning all from a sunny but windy Fife. Bit better today hopefully. Can't believe I did not open my eyes until 8.35 this morning. What a week it's been with DH and DD,however hopefully all will be getting better day by day. Chores to do after nothing all week and of course like old Mother Hubbard again so shopping on list too. Hope everyone is doing fine but for those of you who are under the weather or with other problems I hope all turn better. Happy Birthday Alaygran I'm sure your coffee and cake later will cheer you up. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning, overcast after heavy overnight rain.
Nothing planned for today, good as I have a novel I would like to finish.

grannyqueenie Fri 21-Sept-18 08:42:25

Morning all, I’m never organised enough to say hello but just peeked in and saw your post aly and wanted to send you some birthday ?. It must be hard waking up on your own today, I’m glad you’ve got some treats to come later on.
?for you 2 Aggie, memories are funny things, hope your day goes well.
Choosing a new gas fire is our task of the day, it may need careful negotiations! Have a good day everyone, whatever you’re up to. x

Greyduster Fri 21-Sept-18 08:41:03

Happy birthday Alygran; bittersweet though it is, I hope you find some joy in your day.??

NannyJan53 Fri 21-Sept-18 08:38:27

Good Morning from a bright and breezy Black Country. After heavy rain most of yesterday, at least it has stopped now!

Going on a walk this morning at a local beauty spot with a walking group. Then tonight we are on a canal boat trip with a Fish n Chip supper smile

Have a good day everyone.

Marydoll Fri 21-Sept-18 08:32:29

Happy birthday Alygran. I'm sorry to hear you are on your own on your birthday. flowers

Alygran Fri 21-Sept-18 08:30:15

Good morning everyone from a bright and breezy North Yorkshire. Managed to feed the grass before the deluge yesterday.
My birthday today (63) and feeling sad having breakfast alone. Coffee and cake with a friend later and DD2 coming this evening for a couple of days. DD1 and family coming tomorrow after football. They live too far away for me to be a regular stander in the rain!
Have a good day everyone.

So sorry to hear that Aggie, was it a while ago? Northampton is bright but very windy. I am taking the cats to the vet this morning for their annual check-up and vaccinations, got to get a taxi though, as I don't drive any more; hope they behave themselves! Then the grand-daughters are coming for tea after school. Managed to fill two bags and a box for air ambulance charity collection this morning. Their van came round nearly an hour ago, so glad I put stuff out early.

Auntieflo Fri 21-Sept-18 08:21:02

Good morning Mick, Annie to come, and all GN's.
It is a bright sunny day, after quite a windy night.
Gagagran, I know what you mean about the 'sitting and looking' thing with workmen. I'm sure thay have to study hard to get the degree.
Aggie, {{{hugs}}}
Ginny, envy abouut the antique and retro shops, enjoy.
Marydoll, you will get going, slowly, take care
To all sport watching wet weather grans, cheers.
Have a good day one and all.

Marydoll Fri 21-Sept-18 08:12:48

Good morning all.
Cool, but dry here in Glasgow. It's taking me ages to get moving this morning.
Continuing my clothes cull this morning and off to meet a friend this afternoon. I'm trying to be ruthless.grin
Don't get too wet, you football ⚽spectating grans.
Aggie, flowers

cornergran Fri 21-Sept-18 08:11:53

Morning Mick, morning All. Grey and draughty in our corner of Somerset. Not much of a voice this morning but feel better so may venture out if the forecast rain isn’t too bad. Take care out there everyone. Wild weather about.

Pittcity Fri 21-Sept-18 07:58:08

Good morning from a bright and breezy Colchester. Kept awake by wind and rain overnight and it's still blowing now but not a cloud in the sky.
Minding DGS2 this morning and have 1 and 3 overnight.

Willow10 Fri 21-Sept-18 07:56:38

Good morning all from a cool, breezy but sunny East Northants. The wind woke me several times in the night rattling the roof tiles. Picked up my new reading glasses yesterday but I don't like them! They did say I could take them back within three months for any reason - I hope that includes feeling like a 1950's school marm! Do you think they say 'they look good, they really suit you!' just to get you to make a decision?

NanKate Fri 21-Sept-18 07:54:34

How sad Aggie ?

Yes Greyduster we footballing Grans are made of strong stuff. Hope your foot feels better soon.

ginny Fri 21-Sept-18 07:54:21

Good morning all.
A pleasant start to the day after heavy rain. Sun is out although still quite breezy.
DH has gone to play golf early. I have a Doctors appointment and then SW. Spending the rest of the day with DD2 visiting some antique and retro shops. Will probably manage a nice lunch or early dinner too.

aggie Fri 21-Sept-18 07:48:56

Good Morning everyone , I am actually up and about and on the lap top instead of the Kindle , must admit it is easier to type . Bright and cold here , the heating didn't come on cos the clock is awry ! no idea why , so I have it on constant and I had better remember to turn it off before I go out at 10 . I am going to the start of our Art class , bit sad , last time I was there I came home to hear OH was going to Hospital for "tests" , but he never got home .

Greyduster Fri 21-Sept-18 07:43:15

I will think about you on Sunday, Kate as I will be doing the same!! If the boys can do wet weather, I can do wet weather!

Greyduster Fri 21-Sept-18 07:41:22

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Wet and wild in South Yorkshire though it seems to have calmed down since last night. I thought out bedroom window was coming in! After my fall yesterday my foot hurts, so I will be limping today. We are having lunch with a friend later and will spend the afternoon catching up, so nothing strenuous! Have a good day folks.

NfkDumpling Fri 21-Sept-18 07:40:45

Morning All

Bright and breezy here in Norfolk. I don’t think I’d risk a brolly, it’d only turn inside out.

Back to art classes this morning. I missed the summer term as there was too much happening, and I fear I’ve not touched a brush all summer - apart from painting a moon for a Pin the Rocket on the Moon Station game for DGS’s party.

NanKate Fri 21-Sept-18 07:39:35

Morning Mick and All.

Dry and sunny in South Bucks.

Off to Sussex to our DS and DGS for what I expect to be a wet weekend. I will be the one tomorrow morning standing on a football pitch in waterproof trousers and full wet weather gear watching the boys, I won’t be looking my best?

Gagagran Fri 21-Sept-18 07:19:32

Morning all!

It's dry and windy here on the south coast and definitely cooler. The sky is clear and the sun is coming up so it's light and bright.

The road widening outside our house has started and seems to involve a lot of sitting in vans surveying the scene followed by half an hour of putting some barriers up, then another sit in the vans. NOT impressed by the work ethic! No wonder it's scheduled to take 10 weeks.

Hope the day is a good one for us all. Don't forget the brolly kitty. wink
