Eek, Spotty Husband!

After each of my 4 pregnancies I was told that I must have missed my Rubella vaccination and had to have (another) one. BTW I am sure I had the jab when I was at school.
Luckily I never caught it in pregnancy as somehow it seems I can’t retain the resistance to it.
I found that out when DD3 aged 21/2 was taken to visit a possible nursery . They had had a few children with it. Guess who caught it?

That's a coincidence. My student Dd currently has a rash which may - or may not - be rubella.

She's had her MMR but maybe it has t worked or has worn off.

I was never offered a jab at school, so I had rubella as a teenager.

I had rubella as an adult, and the GP asked if I had been 'jointy'. I didn't know what he meant until my hands later seized up. I remember being unable to pull the bed clothes over myself.

I had rubella whilst my Mother was pregnant with my sibling. I can remember her leaving food/drink outside my bedroom door. When I used the bathroom I had to wipe everything down with dettol.

On the upside it was just before my O levels, so I had time to revise, no TVs in bedrooms back in the day!!!

I had it as a child after having ordinary measles. I didn't know you could have it more than once. I've not had chickenpox though and am always worried when I hear there's an outbreak although I've no little ones to catch it from. SIL's little grandson got it last year on holiday then his dad had it when he got home and was really poorly. All these childhood illnesses are worse as adults. Hope your husband soon starts to feel better - and you don't get it!

I had ir as a child and rhen again at 19. Apparently there are 2 sorts. Anyway I was well immune by the time I started having children. In fact my youngest got it when he was 3 months old, much to the doc's amazement. I haven't heard of any German measles around these parts lately. There are a lot of pregnant women about. I hope they have taken precautions.

I had rubella in my first year of teaching. Think rubella vaccination is relatively recent.
Sadly read article showing dropping numbers of kids having vaccinations. London was lowest for measles ? School for deaf where my aunt taught in the 60s had high mumber of pupils profoundly deaf as a result of now preventable "childhood" illnesses.

Good job your husband didn't have it on your cruise MiniMoon or you would have been confined to barracks for the duration!

We went to the Norwegian Fjords Jen. It was the best holiday we've ever had.
