My old grey hoody

My black padded short jacket is heading towards its 20th winter..along the seams down the sleeves, little feathers are poking out haha but it's the warmest jacket I own..it looks quite shabby but still wear it when walking the dog, gardening etc..well done NEXT!!

I too have a faithful hoody DanniRae. Not quite as old as yours but not too far behind. I mainly wear it around the house and garden as its seen better days. I have just invested in 2 new ones from NEXT that I hope will give me equally good service.

I still have the pants that I 'sat' my A levels in! I found them recently. I think I might struggle to fit them now though

Can't beat Jane10 with her A-level jeans but I do have a lovely Jeagar jacket in shades of deep blue that I had for special occasions when I was around
40. I am now almost 80. I cannot bear to throw it out as it cost an arm and a leg in those days.

Erm Grannysue05 they weren't jeans! Clue-they came from M&S in a packet of 2.

I have probably the same grey hoodie. It has the St Michael label on it and they dropped St Michael in the year 2000. It is still going strong, which is more than you can say for a lot of M&S garments. I wore it today while I was fishing (not for long - the sun came out!)!
I also still wear a half zip Benetton sweat shirt that my DD left behind for me to throw out when she left home twenty six years ago! It was big on her but it fits me fine and though very faded, it is still going strong!

my MIL had a cardi, that originally belonged to one of her sons. She has worn it for 60 years plus.

I have a Blacks furry hoody (black in colour)
It belonged to my daughter who had it when she was a teenager she's in her 30s now!
It should have gone to the charity shop when she left home.
I just couldn't part with it.
During the last awfwinter, it kept me so warm I snuggled up in it most days.

I recently got really cross because my Wellingtons sprung a leak, they cost over £100 and I was slating the brand to anyone who would listen.
It was my husband who reminded me they were 15 years old.
A wellington repair kit for £5 sorted the problem. ?

I haven't got any item of clothing that's more than 6 years old - and that was a lovely dress I bought for a wedding. I wore it the once only

I've got a couple of zip up light weight fleeces that I wear around the house, and in bed when it's really cold. They are pale pink and blue, and were bought in Primark of all places, so many years ago, must be 20 years.

They are a little bobbly now but the zips are still fine. I think they probably cost all of £6 each, and if I costed them per wear, I'd be in negative figures.

I have just remembered I also have a very smart red C & A sixth sense tailored pure wool knitted jacket. I wear it mainly around Christmas time. It is snugger than it used to be but still gets nice comments. Warm and smart too. I wish I could buy another of that quality now. Again I'm not sure how old it is, but must be 25 years.

I have wonderful thin but very warm damart thermal vest. It has midlength sleeves, a wide neck and fits to the waist. I bought three of them about 30 years ago and Damart only did them for a year or two so I treasure the one that is left.

I treasure it so much because it goes under so many outfits, where ordinary thermal vests are too thick, too high in the neck, too long in the sleeve and body. Special occasion dresses and the like.

I've still got a cheesecloth smock my then fiance bought for my 18th! I don't wear it - wonder why I keep it?

My favourite winter coat is about to be dry cleaned ready for it's 10th year. In fact I saw Meghan wearing a similar one on one of her walkabouts prior to becoming Duchess of Sussex, navy blue military style, hers was far more expensive than mine of course, but I don't feel this coat of mine has dated or looks worn. Quite honestly unless you are one of those who is dictated by high fashion there are many items of clothing that change little year on year, weatherproof jackets made by Berghaus, I've one of those, exactly the same in the shops today as when I bought mine 5 or 6 years ago. Staple items, hoodies, shirts, classic jumpers etc. etc. aren't really affected by what's around on the catwalks of the fashion world.
