Naked neighbours - what would you do?

Old Batty and Gillybob you made me laugh out loud! I think I would sell tickets and just imagine the shock they would get seeing a yard full of people staring at them! I think if it were me I would just ignore it unless they actually started any sexual activity! as for the scratchy balls I would post some cream for itchy gonads through their door (anonymously of course)

A note how ever polite is not the way to deal with this as another has suggested or knocking on their door... Because we don't like something is not to say what someone is doing is wrong. Clearly your friend is not happy with what she is observing and it could be said ' what's your problem ?then don't look'. It is not your business to intervene and could make it worse and you do not know what the couple's motives are by their display of nudity if their is a motive ?. Standing in the altogether in front of full length windows questionable ?If you want to help why not accompany her to CA and get their advice on this situation and how it can be dealt with. Legally if necessary.

I am wondering if it is allowable for them to have built the floor length windows overlooking your house - do they also overlook the garden?
I would get some really fast growing leylandi or bamboo to put on your boundary, not necessarilt the whole length but strategically placed to block their window and keep it cut at a point that only allows you to see the upper part of their window. Alternatively perhaps a cafe blind in your kitchen window would do the job if you still have privacy in the garden. If you can see them, they can see you depending on the sun and lighting.
Or you could put some anti itch powder through the door with a note saying “ I see your husband has to scratch himself every morning perhaps this will help”, but it sounds as though they know they can be seen and don’t care - perhaps they are naturists.
Another explanation is that they have the type of window that is supposedly non see through from the outside. One of my neighbours has these with no curtains, but if there is more light inside than outside, ( or if the sun is shining into the room) you can see in very clearly.

Of course it is possible that they are deliberately exposing themselves in the full knowledge of children seeing them. Could it be a turn on?
That could be a very different matter and I think I would be very wary if I suspected their motives.

Of course people can do whatever they please in their own home including parading around stark naked if they please but they do not have the right to inflict their nudity on their neighbours. So if any costs are to be involved in putting up blinds or window frosting then that's down to the naked neighbour to supply and pay for. Who cares what their reasons are for being naked, that's totally irrelevant.

If it were just adults seeing, I wouldn't make a fuss. My concern is that it's in front of children and that is exactly why they're doing it.
A nice note suggesting they put up some blinds or curtains?....
either that or show some pictures to the police. If someone is inside their own house however, the police may be reluctant to pursue.

This thread has given me a much needed laugh! but in all seriousness if your friend is upset about this I would suggest a call to the police on 101 and seek guidance from them

Sorry but to have all the information your friends have ‘ he was scratching his bits’ ‘ they stood in full view’ they must have been staring to see what was happening If I saw a naked body in the window opposite I wouldn’t take a blind bit of notice after the first glance ( unless it was a good looking chap) if I had children who I was concerned would see I d put nets or blinds up You can’t go telling others to put blinds up and if they are doing nothing but pottering around butt naked then stop looking you are probably making it enjoyable for them by your discomfort

Rosina that reminded me of when we first got married and lived in a flat. The lovely old gentleman across the hall was a naturist (always trying to get us to join his club) and would put the daily paper through the door. Anyway one night we had visitors and the paper came through the door I opened the door to say thanks and ask him to join us and there he was standing in all his full glory for everyone to see. I quickly said thanks for the paper and shut the door LOL!!!

I would put up net curtains in the 11 year old girl's room, so that there is no danger of her being seen naked or partly undressed by others, as that concerns me much more than adults being seen nude.

However, depending on the age of the children concerned, if their mother is concerned about them seeing unrelated adults naked, then the only thing she can do IMO is put up curtains in the rooms that face that family.

I sympathise with her; I wouldn't want to see my neighbours in their birthday suits at any time of day!

Seeing their antics will save the family having to explain about the birds and bees to their offspring. Get them some binoculars.

According to the law being a nudist in your own home is ok being an exhibitionist is not and if they stand near full length windows where they can be clearly see by people outside of their home especially minors is an offence.

Id suggest a not through the door telling them they can be seen and asking them to get blinds/curtains etc. If after a reasonable time they carry on- Id call the police.

In uk law it is not illegal to be PUBLICLY naked unless the intent behind your nudity is offensive.

Eg if there was a neighbour dispute and one neighbour deliberately exposed themselves to the order in order to antagonize or upset the other, that is legally offensive nudity. However if your neighbour simply likes naked yoga/meditation/origami by an undressed window: not a legal offense!

Notanan2 If it is not unlawful to be naked why was the naked runner arrested a number of times? I am sure if I stripped off in the street it would be obscene behaviour.

If you yourself are a naturist that is fine but the rest of the public should not be forced to take part in seeing, sometimes very ugly bodies stripped off. Let's face it most of our bodies are not works of art. To me it is exibitionist.

There's a sort of agreement among genuine nudists to keep it to themselves. The people I lived next door to for many years in Germany were nudists. They had high hedges and made no secret of the fact that they went to FKK beaches on holiday (FKK = nudist in German). It's quite common in Germany. But in all those years, I never once saw either of them in the nude. We often went to their house for a meal or whatever. Never anything to see. Though there was an incident once when a friend came to visit me and went into a door into their garden by mistake, and Mrs FKK was there in the altogether!
Right now I'm at a beach resort in Germany and further down the beach is FKK. And often I've been to lakes or rivers in Germany and Austria where half the people stripped naked. I never would but I kind of like that casual treatment of nudity. Perhaps the kids could simply be educated that some people do this and it's their business, and not to stare or laugh.
