Hoorah, hooray, this really is my day!

No definitely not Jonathan Ross, I agree Jangran99

Jangran99 Sat 08-Sept-18 08:46:10

Graham Norton would be good, entertaining, witty and clever ,but oh please, NOT Jonathan Ross.

Jane10 Thu 06-Sept-18 06:46:50

I'd like one of the 'big beasts' to take over. Graham Norton or Jonathan Ross. They're really entertaining and definitely not bland.

Gma29 Wed 05-Sept-18 09:06:07

Oh winifred01 yes!

pollyperkins Wed 05-Sept-18 09:00:54

I tend to listen to classic fm these days. I used to like Terry Wogan but I'm another one who can't stand Chris Evans and his frenetic shouty style. I prefer Ken Bruce's manner and gentle humour.

I can take or leave CE , depends how I feel. Not so keen on Steve Wright these days and can’t stand the ‘serious jockin’ thing on a Friday. Drive time has been ruined by adding Jo Riley.

I really like CE and will be sorry to see him go. Some broadcasters are lazy and get stuck in a rut running the same features for years. Chris Evans is always upbeat, energetic and inventive. I wish him well.

I think the last time I listened to CE was years ago on radio London when he was with his then wife, Carol McGiffin: they were very funny together.
But who I really want to see replaced is Jeramy Vine. What is it about that man that irritates me sooooo much angry

winifred01 Tue 04-Sept-18 20:45:16

Now let's get rid of Jeremy Vine- another full of himself. Does not listen to the people who phone in.

Yes, over the last year or so I have found much of the stuff on Radio Four slightly depressing. It's become almost too earnest...

NfkDumpling Tue 04-Sept-18 19:44:09

I may find the Radio Two channel again. I’m getting a bit fed up with Radio Four’s gloom and doom.

I am surprised this is such 'big' news. I suppose when talentless reality show personalities also make the news, and these nonentities 'star' in shows which are complete dross and an insult to the viewing public (imo) someone most of us know, like Evans, might be a tad newsworthy.

I have tried but cannot warm to him unfortunately. His ego just seems to come across too often and I hate the way he name drops continuously and talks about his family and so turns them into minor royalty. His taking over after the inimitable Terry Wogan was controversial and newsworthy but Evans leaving - meh. Not bothered.

I too love the warm voice and humour of Lisa Tarbuck but I also enjoy listening to Craig Charles. He's very good.

Bluegal Tue 04-Sept-18 19:13:53

I am thinking of starting a new thread about Good Morning presenters. My main gripe is NOT surprising Piers Morgan but bloody Kate - I love myself - Garroway! How does that woman ever get away from speaking about herself????

Bluegal Tue 04-Sept-18 19:11:14

Sorry I but I actually love listening to Chris Evans...I guess his humour is just mine too? Having said that I enjoyed Terry Wogan also. Also remember Sarah Kennedy at some point who I loved also. If I wake up laughing...I love it ha ha

1974cookie Tue 04-Sept-18 17:29:56

I vote for Cerys Matthews. I love it when she fills in on Radio 2 ????.

Pinkrinse Tue 04-Sept-18 17:13:36

I like him and will miss him when he goes.

Mamagborg Tue 04-Sept-18 16:25:58

I stopped listening to him a year or so ago, as it’s all me me me and why does he bring his kids in? Not keen on Sarah Cox either, but Zoe Ball or Trevor Nelson would be great. Definiy time for a change.

Pittcity Tue 04-Sept-18 15:36:26

Another Ken Bruce and Steve Wright fan here. I turn off Chris Evans and Jeremy Vine.
I would like Scott Mills from Radio 1 for the breakfast show, my sort of humour.

Sheilasue Tue 04-Sept-18 15:30:51

Quite agree paddyann, too much chatting and not enough music, apart from Steve Wright in the afternoon love the banter in there.
I get a bored so have to turn it over at 12 not stop chat for an hour. drives me loopy.

Lilylaundry Tue 04-Sept-18 13:46:26

I don't turn the radio on until 9.30am. CE gives me pains all over, as does that awful, awful, Davina McColl. She took over from KB a few years back, after the 11.30am chat with JV about what would be on his programme at 12, she called JV back and said, 'You're awesome'. I almost threw up.

Lisa Tarbuck is the forever Radio 2 early morning girl for me. Shall we start an on-line petition?

quizqueen Tue 04-Sept-18 13:41:56

I don't listen to him or radio 2 but I don't like him at all and can't understand why he's paid so much.

grandmac Tue 04-Sept-18 13:25:11

Glad I’m not the only one! Always found him very irritating and full of self importance.
Can I throw the cat amongst the pigeons and say I don’t like Lenny Henry much either?! shock

Marycat2 Tue 04-Sept-18 12:06:50

Yes so can I when he took over from Sir Terry my then alarm clock radios would only work on Radio 2 so had to buy a new one just to be able to have radio on whilst getting ready for work.
Just a note of caution we dont yer know who the repgacement will be

Hopefully64 Tue 04-Sept-18 11:33:05

I am also some one who turn off radio 2 cos of Chris Evans.
It would be lovely if Zoe ball got the job as she was 1st on radio 1 .
Don't like Sarah Cox voice.
Lisa tarbuck would be lovely too.

maryhoffman37 Tue 04-Sept-18 11:14:41

Radio 4 for me but radio 3 on weekends and at 12 noon (can't stand You and Yours) , unless home Front is on, when I switch to 3 at 12.15. Nothing I've ever heard or seen of CE appeals.
