No you weren't.

I have been rang before by the Bank fraud dept, and been suspicious, so I said I'd ring them back. I then googled the Bank phone number and rang and explained. Eventually I was told it WAS genuine, and we had a conversation. I still had to give some security info, especially set up for phone use.

You can't be too careful these days. Never ring back on the number they provide, of course.

Some of you may remember a few days ago I posted about my frustration in trying to contact my bank. This morning I received a phone call from them saying they wanted to discuss the problem, but before they could I would need to answer some security questions.

They rang me so why should I be the one having to answer security questions? Shouldn't they be the ones having to prove who they are?

I refused to answer and told them I was not comfortable giving my bank security replies to someone who had telephoned me and suggested if they needed to contact me they use the email address they have for me or write to me. I would add they have never telephoned me before

Was I being over cautious?
