You are a girl after my own heart janeainsworth I have several Rohan trousers in dowdy shades & OH loves his Altberg boots. I haven't been up the Wrekin for ages, it's a very stiff climb but I live in Shropshire & GNs welcome to visit at any time but not en masse

I haven't been up the Wrekin for years.
Although we often go "all round the Wrekin" as the saying goes. I used to be able to see it from my house

Well, it could have got caught up with a load of dark washing and gone in on 40C

Grannyknot Taupe is quite a different shade from beige as it contains much more bounce of colour.

Mônica, I’ve done that. Came back exhausted from visiting my dying father in hospital, after a four hour train journey, put my washing, including two beautiful wool jumper dresses from Jigsaw, on a wool wash, had a shower and got everything ready for the next day at work, came downstairs expecting to hang up the washing to find it still churning away. I’d put it on a boil wash.

I have made that kind of mistake, Maggiemaybe. I tossed a wool sweater into the ordinary wash because it was swing labelled as 'machine washable'. It was only when it had matted and shrunk, I read the inside label that said 'wool cycle only', or words to that effect!

Though perhaps not all of us have machine washed a suede skirt, because one nutter helpful person on the world wide web said she'd done it many times...

I think they use “ends of lines”, overproduction, surplus fabric from manufacturers etc but yes, also your own cashmere sweaters if not consumed by moth. If they are felted or have shrunk I would not be too sure, but I think you get a pair of wrist warmers/fingerless gloves for every sweater you send them!

How do you recycle cashmere?

Does this mean that someone fished my shrunken cashmere cardigan out of the bin and recycled it? I only washed it on a cold wash, honest!

Thanks, Maw. Recycled and made in Britain too. I was getting quite excited at the very low prices as well (straight to the sale page, of course) till I realised I was looking at an ear warmer headband.

the last time I wore taupe [for a wedding] was a disaster and I swore never again.

I do have a pair of Clarks beige sandals though [should I wear them with beige socks?] Only joking.

Today I'm wearing 'house trousers' - an old pair of navy cotton trousers by Dash with an even older blue/dark red/yellow/white top.
They're my "looking as if I'm busy doing housework" clothes.

We went to the Wetlands on a hot day in July.

I own three beige trenches (why, I can’t recall) and a much-loved beige linen shift dress. As many have said, it’s what you wear that matters, and how you wear it.

But I must say I joined DH on one of his RSPB jaunts on a very hot day this July. I wore a navy and white sleeveless dress and a pair of sandals, which I still think totally appropriate for a day walking along proper paths in nature reserves. Everyone else on the trip was dressed in those multi-pocketed beige/khaki trousers and jerkins, with walking boots. They must have been sweltered.

The only ‘beige’ I wear is trousers or crops. Being fair skinned and light haired it makes me look ill of worn near my face. It can look great teamed with some other colours. Here is my colour scheme for today
