I'm waiting for the law to change so that I can be thrown on the compost heap and do some good!

We sorted all ours out with the Co-op. DH is a member of staff in one of the stores, and there was an offer on a couple of years ago. The funerals are now covered. As for the music/hymns, I change my mind so often that I haven't settled on anything yet.

Went to funeral recently, a walking friend had died before her time, we felt. She had chosen the Kinks Thank You for the Days and we all sang Mary Hopkin's Those Were the Days. It was a lovely send off.

We've done all the planning - including USB sticks with slideshows and our favorite funeral music on them. I've picked "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" and Freddie Mercury's "Those Were the Days". I don't want it to be a somber affair .

I will have a private service, my long time priest friend will take the service, so few people there hymns would be difficult so will have the organist play ‘How Great Thou Art’
Will be interred with my husband and my darling daughter will be interred with me, I do not want her interred now.

I want my body taken to the church the night before so I can lie before the cross.

We did ours last month - glad to have it sorted. Of course it will be a waste in my case as I have no intention of dying...ever.grin

I enquired about a plan with Age Uk, and they keep sending me application forms! I’ve got 3 now. I put a decision on hold after hearing something about a government (? I think) enquiry into funeral plans, although it might be about those insurance ones (like 50 plus etc) always on the tv.

I and OH have left our bodies to Medical Science -- if they want them! DC can do whatever they like with the remains! I shan't be there!

Marydoll, don't worry about entry into the pearly gates of Heaven, St Peter will be there to greet with a welcoming smile as you choose an appropriate cloud to sit on. As regarding hymn how about The Old Rugged Cross, gets me every time.

That's favourite of my children too. grin

I’m leaving it to my children to arrange my funeral. My son has told me his music choices: “Ding dong the witch is gone” is one of them.

I'd like
Dear Lord and Father of Mankind -
Forgive our Foolish Ways

Have 'Abide with me'. I love belting that one out!

I went out to get keys cut for our new back door.
Coming out of the shop, I decided to go in next door to the local independent funeral director to ask about a funeral plan. (I know, there is no connection between them, unless I was getting the keys to the Kingdom of heaven)
When I got home, I found an email from Co-op Funeralcare in my inbox, giving details about a funeral bond.
Now I didn't leave any contact details with the funeral director, who has nothing to do with the Co-op anyway, so I'm wondering if someone is prompting me to get my affairs in order. grin
I'm off to pick my funeral hymns, just in case.
