Anyone else feel the same?
I do have dc and have recently become a grandmother.

I'm curious as to why Bee hasn't returned to solve the mystery.

Earlier in the thread she responded a few times to various posters but since the 'confusion' has remained mysteriously silent.

Bathsheba Tue 21-Aug-18 13:49:54

On 18/8 at 15.04 bee63 posted that she was now embarrassed by her original post.

No she didn't. What she said was "I feel very blush now for starting this thread". And that was in response to a long post by M0nica which roundly put her in her place regarding stereotypes. So Bee63 was embarrassed that she had evidently been guilty of pigeonholing grandmothers, people who are retired, people who listen to the Archers and so on. All of which were mentioned by her and others, in the thread that she had started which was now embarrassing her.

Just goes to show how unreliable witnesses can be in a court situation hmm.

ginny Tue 21-Aug-18 12:36:12

If it hasn’t been changed then the following poster are giving quite strange replies.

pollyperkins Tue 21-Aug-18 11:41:24

Actually she didn't mention knitting at all (but retirement) - someone else did. I think people are getting paranoid for no reason!

pollyperkins Tue 21-Aug-18 11:36:27

I don't think it was changed. I thought so at first after it was mentioned but when I looked again more closely I decided the 12.44 comment about knitting and the Archers was what I'd read. Hard now to remember the OP!! Why would it be changed if the 12.44 post wasn't removed? Makes no sense!

kittylester Tue 21-Aug-18 11:15:58

At the moment HQ say they can't find anything to suggest an edit.

Only lots of long standing posters knowing what they saw.

This is leaving a weird taste in my mouth but I have no idea what the purpose of allowing an edit and then denying it would be.

Or has the site been hacked?

Lazigirl Tue 21-Aug-18 11:14:00

We should ask bee63 to adjudicate but where is she????

ginny Tue 21-Aug-18 10:51:57

No, the original post mentioned not being interested in the Archers or knitting. On 18/8 at 15.04 bee63 posted that she was now embarrassed by her original post. No need to do that if what is there now has not been changed surely ? Intriguing is it not ????

Lazigirl Tue 21-Aug-18 10:15:56

Perhaps we are getting bee63's 2 posts mixed up. She posted the original on Sat 18th 11:46:03 and the 2nd about retirement and the Archers Sat 18th 12:44:03. Just sayin.......

Grannybags Mon 20-Aug-18 21:44:07

Definitely changed - I remember the reference to the Archers and knitting. Very odd.

ginny Mon 20-Aug-18 21:31:16

What is someone trying to cover up. The original post has definitely been changed. It did mention the archers and knitting. Mystery .

lemongrove Mon 20-Aug-18 21:30:57

Is it the wrong kind of truth? Fake news? grin

merlotgran Mon 20-Aug-18 21:27:20

I didn't post until about 2.30 in the afternoon because I'd seen bee63's post at 12.44 about The Archers. I honestly can't remember if the OP was the original or shortened version because I didn't take much notice but I can't think for one moment that 12 people are delusional.

The OP hasn't returned and we've been here before. It's certainly a very odd situation.

paddyann Mon 20-Aug-18 21:16:14

I have no doubt it was changed. If it hadn't mentioned the Archers I would have had no reason to .Somebody's telling porkies!!

kittylester Mon 20-Aug-18 20:03:46

Regardless of the 12 or so posts from perfectly sane and reasonable people who say it was!

PECS Mon 20-Aug-18 18:24:56

Well as a mum and a gran I use both!
Younger women on MN are less experienced mothers that's all! wink

janemar Mon 20-Aug-18 18:12:39

It was not changed, there was a post from GN earlier.

Stansgran Mon 20-Aug-18 17:15:43

I tend to read more Mumsnet but in a stalking fashion especially the mil ones as I worry that whatever the crime is I may have committed something similar. Whereas I will post on Gransnet because since a Bell type of person left people are gentler in their criticism and if iPad allows me to (when the moon is blue and we're having a month of Sundays )

knickas63 Mon 20-Aug-18 16:07:39

I am in a similar boat - I am 54. But I find this site helpful and interesting. I am on both - but rarely fire up MN now. I pick and chossed the sections I choose to read or interact with. I still work full time and I am have only been a Grandmother for 6 six years - and they are still coming!

jenpax Mon 20-Aug-18 15:56:37

I am younger than the OP and still feel fine on here!
I became a GM in my early 40’s and initially wasn’t best pleased as I felt that as soon as anyone knew I was a grandparent ageism started up? However I dress like a 30 year old listen to all kinds of music modern and classical and try to keep up with technology etc. I don’t pidgeon hole people according to their age and find that age is meaningless anyway!

littleflo Mon 20-Aug-18 10:01:21

Sites like these are never a true reflection of real life or give any insight into the posters. If you read MN you would think that every husband was unfaithful or lazy. All In-laws are evil, all children are difficult and that parents today cannot cope. Of course people rarely post about the good things in life .

I expect the men and women on here are just the same. Those that have a fulfilling life are on here with help and advice but don’t boast of crow about what their own life is like.

I have been very privileged lately to meet some GNetters. Each of them have contributed so much to Society and are continuing to do so. They have been involved Nursing, Fostering, Teaching, Politics as well as caring for their community, Grandchildren and sick relatives. Every time I meet them I am over-awed with the knowledge and elequence. Few of their attributes would come across in a post but I suspect they are representative of a typical GNetter.

Lazigirl Sun 19-Aug-18 19:53:39

Yeh I googled!

Alypoole Sun 19-Aug-18 19:30:41

Lazigirl really? In the Sun? Well, well.
