Wonderful post. So many of those songs stir vivid memories for me as well. Although its funny how it seems to be only songs remembered from about the age of 15 up to perhaps the mid twenties which bring back these type of memories. I can't really say that songs which became popular as I got older have the same effect when I hear them now. It could be because life becomes serious when you hit the mid twenties, marriage, homemaking and children take up your time, and lying on your bedroom floor on a Sunday afternoon listening to Top of the Pops with your friends becomes a thing of the past, probably replaced by shouting up the stairs to your own children to turn the music down.
