Hair problems.

Gave up paying my hairdresser 70 of my hard-earned £££'s in March this year ( cut and colour) every six weeks. Now get my haircut at home . Costs £9 , and colour myself using Nice'n' Easy 91. Dark blonde. My new hairdresser says she'll also put colour on for me for £5 ....as long as I rinse of myself. Deal or what??!

I've used Garnier Nutrisse Crème in Dark Quartz or Deep Reddish Brown for the past 6/7 years. Do check the expected colour on the side/back of the box, which will vary depending on the colour of your own hair and it's condition.

I use a wella one (comes in a yellow box) - because I am allergic to all other hair colouring products so do be careful what you use and do patch tests first. If you get a bad reaction its not funny! The wella one v. easy to apply oneself, tho' you might have to experiment a bit to get the right colour. You do have to re-apply it every 4 weeks or so, but I'd rather do that than have a permanent one and get a bad reaction.

Most brands are good these days but be very careful of your choice of colours as dark blonde comes out brown and browns can be very dark nearly black. Good luck.

I use Nice n' Easy Dark Blonde (shade number 7). It lightens as the weeks go by to a lighter blonde but everyone says how natural it looks. When just applied, it's more of a light brown colour.

Trial and error, previously I used the one Davina McCall has but it was way too red on me, I have a lot of natural red tones which it seemed to accentuate and I wanted it to be a natural tone. They have a shade finder which didn't work for me but might for you.

Flexi.....how did you ensure it was a good match and not too dark ( witch) or light ( ghost) please?

I use Nic ' n Easy, it costs around £6. Takes about 30 - 45 minutes for the process. Hair is left in beautiful condition.

I use Garnier nutrisse cocoa which is the closest to my natural colour, never had a problem with it and my hair is still in very good condition. It's a permanent colour so grows out and doesn't wash out.
