Marieliz, my mother was the same - what they called strawberry blonde when younger and still not grey - just very faded - when she died at 97. Mind you at around 80 it gave her trouble with a neighbour who accused her of lying when she said she didn't dye it! There was a falling out because my mother wouldn't admit it!
I am very lucky to have the same gene - 69 and still no grey - my blonde hair just went a lot darker. I brighten it up with John Frieda Go Blonder spray - so much cheaper and less time-consuming faff than highlights, and not at all obviously growing out if I forget it for a while.
