Which drinks do you find best for quenching your thirst?
I like a cup of tea.

I make my own "water infusion" in this weather - a jug of water in the fridge with a few slices of lemon or lime or peppermint leaves or a combination of any of the above! It's my "magic water" (for grandson) and despite having all sorts of expensive drinks in the house, everyone wants some of it grin

I saw adverts recently for "cold water infusions" by Tetley and also by Twinings so I thought I'd look for those next time I'm in the supermarket...

very very weak tea, or tap water depending on mood. i don't like the sweet lemonades etc.

Coffee or a diet coke for me with the odd Magnum.

I'm drinking water just now..... lately in the heat I have made my usual tea, come in from the garden early watering, sat at the computer and whoosh! I am into a hot flush and dripping sweat.
This time it's water and the fan on, much better.

Mind you the temp is 77 in this room already, and the sun is the other side of the house.

Tea, please, Lapsang, no milk but a slice of lemon floating around in it.

Elderflower cordial & carbonated water or fruit tea left to cool (not go cold). I do love a glass of pear cider & I've found a good non-alcoholic onesmile

I'm with gillybob on elderflower cordial however I have it with sparkling water and sometimes add a little pomegranate juice ( from a carton) to it.

Ofcourse you can buy both of those drink ready made by Green Bottle however it's far more cost effective to buy the cordial and sparkling water separately.

Bottle of elderflower cordial is about £3-00 and a large size 4 pack of sparkling water is £1-47.

The ready made is £2-50 per bottle so you can see the major saving

Lime juice, cold tap water, no ice. I don't drink alcohol so that is my anytime drink when out with friends.

NanaPlenty Mon 23-Jul-18 10:33:51

Plenty of water but definitely still a cup of tea at least twice a day.

B9exchange Mon 23-Jul-18 10:29:53

Sugar free lemon squash with ice does it for me, and no calories!

mrshat Mon 23-Jul-18 10:29:10

Peppermint Tea!

rizlett Mon 23-Jul-18 10:27:55

Soda water with a whole half of lemon in it.

Kim19 Mon 23-Jul-18 10:26:06

It's pure grapefruit juice with bits for me. Can't think what brought this on but seem to recollect buying a date reduced carton and now kinda hooked.

Elderflower with pressed pear cordial and iced water is delicious if you are very thirsty but a cup of tea is the most refreshing.

Lindylo Mon 23-Jul-18 09:58:48

Tea or lemon barley water for me.

tictac Mon 23-Jul-18 08:54:00

Very cold diet coke. It's not very good for me I know but it quenches the thirst in a way nothing else does

How about a Florida orange?
I've just remembered that from my teens.
Fresh orange, lemonade, and a drop of lime.

merlotgran Sun 22-Jul-18 23:15:46

The thirst quenching drink of my childhood was lemonade, lots of ice, and the juice of half a fresh lime. Nowadays it works well with diet 7Up or slimline tonic.

Grapefruit and lemon squash with chilled fizzy water

MissAdventure Sun 22-Jul-18 23:01:09

I don't think I've ever tried elderflower cordial.
I'll have to get some smile

MissAdventure Sun 22-Jul-18 22:58:47

Strawberry Ribena and fizzy water sounds nice.

Jalima1108 Sun 22-Jul-18 22:51:26

Elderflower cordial and soda, lime and soda, a nice brew of tea and just plain water.

I know that alcohol is probably not so good to drink in this hot weather, but a very dry cider goes down a treat too.

rubysong Sun 22-Jul-18 22:28:08

Strawberry Ribena with fizzy water is delicious.

MamaCaz Sun 22-Jul-18 21:43:45

Since this heatwave began, I have been drinking our homemade elderflower cordial with chilled soda water. I am not usually a fan of cold soft drinks, but find this really refreshing.

Well, I’ve got the builders moving on site tomorrow, so it’s going to be Blackcurrant Squash, Tropical fruit Squash and plenty of ice cubes, plus biscuits.
