Is Harry happy?

He has not been his usual smiley self in the news clips I've have seen over the last week or two, especially today on the balcony. Has anyone else thought the same?

Objecting to the wealth of the Royal family the reason for which has been well explained in other posts does not mean people are jealous. Also people who spend thousands on Winnie the Pooh bears - and obviously others do it, not just Harry - have more money than sense. There are people who actually need money for food, operations, clean water for goodness sake! If you are fortunate enough to have that amount of money you have a responsibility to your fellow man.

Maybe its about time the royals gave up on their stuffy protocol starbird. Perhaps Meghan is just what they needed to bring them kicking and screaming into reality? Who knows the young ones might all go out to work one day too?

Yes it was as I thought. Harry did have mental health counselling. So glad that his money enabled him to do this. others sadly are not so fortunate and have to "just get on with it".

and before you jump down my throat Annie I am not in any way suggesting that he should not have paid for counselling (of course he should) I am saying that this is a very good example of money helping to buy happiness.

Reverting to the op post, I read, for what it’s worth, that Meghan has been given a protocol advisor to work with for 6 months. It must go entirely against the grain for a naturally friendly, outgoing American to act so cool and distant. I thought it looked as though she wanted to go and stand by the Queen on the balcony - not to be pushy but just to give her some company and support, as she might her own mother. She doesn’t understand protocol and after all, isn’t a lot of it old hat these days? As for crossing legs, the Queen herself has done it (at home but nevertheless in a publicly released photograph) and Meghan looks far more elegant and modest with legs crossed that Kate ever does with her legs together in her above the knee when standing (but half way up her thigh when sitting) hemlines. Just a couple of inches on her skirts would add the final touch of elegance to her look.
I hope Harry and Meghan get to do more charity work with real people at home and abroad - I think that is what they enjoy doing together. And somebody - . Andrew or even one of the younger royals, should act as the Queen’s consort until she retires - walking next to her on official occasions. The trouble is that given a choice, she would probably choose Harry! .

So Gilly, no one should inherit family wealth because it is willed to them and they haven't worked for it

I didn't mean that Annie and I suspect you know it. I am referring to the obscene wealth and privilege surrounding this one family just by accident of birth.

Margs Wed 11-Jul-18 11:16:46

He's probably pre-occupied with wondering what his blabbermouth father-in-law (and other assorted relatives of Meghan's) will say next!

trisher Wed 11-Jul-18 11:11:56

Maybe his boiled egg wasn't quite as soft as he likes them that morning, or his shirt wasn't properly ironed. He must have so many minor irritations in his daily life, I really don't know how he copes. Poor bloke!! grin

So Gilly, no one should inherit family wealth because it is willed to them and they haven't worked for it.

As for curtsying, it is not compulsory, some want to do it , I wouldn’t but accept some do.

glammanana

I received the definitive answer from Anniebach.
Her daughter has 4 dogs.

knspol Wed 11-Jul-18 11:06:17

I noticed Harry's expression too but also thought Meghan looked subdued. Think she's maybe realising now the full extent of being married to the royal family. Also thought Kate looked bored stiff during the RAF service yesterday, maybe sleepless nights?

holdingontometeeth Wed 11-Jul-18 11:00:30

Rich, pandered and a fit wife, what has he to be unhappy about?

glammanana Wed 11-Jul-18 10:58:21

Gabriella Maybe Annies daughter has horses and she wants to have the facilities for any riders that may visit her,
why is it any ones business why she wants it ?

gillybob Wed 11-Jul-18 10:56:40

Before you criticize just think " what did I choose as a teen"

How does that theory work with the royals?

gillybob Wed 11-Jul-18 10:55:09

Oh I am so happy for those who have made it to the top through sheer determination and hard work Davidhs and that includes Rooney, Beckham etc. Its those who have it handed to them on a plate by accident of birth I have issues with and what is it with the curtsying and bowing?

Anniebach Wed 11-Jul-18 10:54:05

Gabriella, quite simply because she now has four dogs and needs a boot room , so they decided on a two storey extension.

gillybob Wed 11-Jul-18 10:52:06

Of course there are those who are rich and happy too MaryEliza wink

Money can and does buy you out of all kinds of problems. Wasn't it Harry himself who said he had counselling following the tragic death of his mother (forgive me if I am wrong) . I wonder if he (or any of the royals) would be expected to wait 6 months or a year on an NHS waiting list for this? Anyone troubled with mental health issues (and I speak from experience) hasn't got a hope in hell waiting for NHS help. My own son had problems following the death of a father he barely even knew. My late grandma, my parents and I had to club together to buy him 6 sessions of counselling. He really should have had 26 but we couldn't afford it.

GabriellaG Wed 11-Jul-18 10:46:51

Anniebach
I wonder why your daughter needs an extension to a 5 bed en-suite house...with a boot room.
She must have lots of visitors to stay.

Davidhs Wed 11-Jul-18 10:46:49

Envy is a terrible thing just because an ordinary person has made a success of their life does not justify slagging them off.
Not just Megan; Hamilton, Rooney, both Beckhams and all the others who have made it. In all those cases the decisions made as teenagers committing to whatever life path chosen.

Before you criticize just think " what did I choose as a teen"

Anniebach Wed 11-Jul-18 10:46:10

Megan will always have to walk behind Kate so Kate will always be queen bee, and one day queen consort and mother of the next monarch .

Anniebach Wed 11-Jul-18 10:42:14

Nothing eats away more than envy Maryeliza , it doesn’t affect those who are envied but certaintly does affect the envious .

And do not tell me as a Labour Party member how to think.

GabriellaG Wed 11-Jul-18 10:41:59

I'm not interested in Harry nor Meghan. My interest (if any) stops at HM, Chas and Cami, William and his family and Zara and hers plus P Anne. Enough.

Maccyt1955 Wed 11-Jul-18 10:37:51

Not sure about Harry. Personally I don’t think the marriage will last...just a hunch but I wish them well. But I don’t think Kate is happy. In close-up she looks sad and strained. Perhaps a combination of not being queen bee any more now that Meghan’s arrived, and the sheer strain of being in the public gaze constantly.

Anniebach Wed 11-Jul-18 10:37:50

GrannyGravy, my daughter had several miscarriages, all were heartbreaking but one year she did a pregnancy test on the day advised by the clinic, it happened to be Mothering Sunday, she mailed me a shot of the test , positive, she miscarried but said to me ‘I was a mother this Mothering Sunday wasn’t I? ‘ that is heartache .

maryeliza54 Wed 11-Jul-18 10:36:26

How bloody patronising ab. What’s wrong with being angry about obscene wealth - any Labour supporter worth their salt should be angry about obscene wealth and privilege and all the more so when it’s completely unearned and based solely on whose vagina you came out of. Does anyone believe that money is the answer to everything - I don’t think so but it’s the answer to many things or a cushion to those problems that can’t be solved. Who was it that said I’ve been rich and miserable and poor and miserable, rich is better. Unremitting worries about money, especially the roof over your head, eat away at you, can destroy relationships, your mental health.

gillybob Wed 11-Jul-18 10:31:23

Please don't be troubled Annie you have enough to worry about.

You are wrong though. I have zero resentment for people of wealth. Good luck to them, I say. My resentment (if you can call it that) just lies with those whom we are supposed to bow and curtsey to. Those who are supposed to be far superior to us mere mortals by accident of birth. the royals.

Sorry to hear about your DD. I know that all the money in the world often can't buy you the one thing you want in the world, that most others take for granted. sad
