Well I believe it is Rufus2 91st on the 8th. We are holding an impromptu virtual party for him. All you need to do is say what you are bringing or doing and what you will wear.

Rufus has promised to be on his best behaviour ?

I will be DJing and wearing a rather fetching sparkly purple jump suit. And before you ask Rufus you can't come in your Birthday suit, this is a respectable party.

Over to you.

NanKate Sat 07-Jul-18 07:30:56

Now to my failing memory your birthday is tomorrow Rufus the 8th. Am I right? I know you are 9 hours ahead of us but it is still too early to open your virtual cards and pressies.

Oopsadaisy53 Sat 07-Jul-18 07:24:48

Happy birthday Rufus where is everybody? I can hear music ...... I’ll just go and see how many are dancing.

That trifle is delish so were the sausage rolls

Rufus2 Sat 07-Jul-18 06:37:34

You're the cream in my coffee
Cavewoman;
My! You're up early for a Saturday! But you've got it about face!
Jalima is croaking it to me, so she has to say "I'm (i.e. Jalima) the cream in your etc). grin
But she'll probably decline both versions and finish up belting out "Show me the way to go Home"! shock
We'll see and probably hear!
Cheers

I'm expecting this to be one hell of a party after the 6 page build up grin

Rufus2 Sat 07-Jul-18 06:16:04

I will come as a bunny girl - Rufus was asking about rabbits the other day

Waterloosunset; It's mid-afternoon here, cold, wet and windy, so I'm staying in, sorting out all my lovely virtual birthday cards.
Now what's this about me and rabbits? I'm confused and lost the thread.
I did mention "hairs" once when I was boasting that I still had some left, not "hares". Never kept rabbits, although I remember we looked after the school guinea pigs a couple of times during school holidays.
That was a hoot , involving the lounge curtains and other household bits and pieces, but we all survived, including the house guests. I remember we were not at all sorry when school holidays were over. grin
Ah1 Nice memories.
Where were we? Rabbits; None found yet, not even any burrows! smile
Good Health

cavewoman Sat 07-Jul-18 05:58:24

You're the cream in my coffee
You're the salt in my stew
You will always be my necessity
I'd be lost without you

Aahhh, They don't sing 'em like that anymore!

Rufus2 Sat 07-Jul-18 05:42:30

I don't mind Rufus, I can croak like a cane toad!!

Jalima; Careful; My party is in Melbourne; not Queensland!
If you're croak is like one of those you'll either be run over by a truck, shot or otherwise exterminated.
What a waste! And on my birthday too! sad
Try "I'm the cream in your coffee" (with apologies to someone or other)
And what sort of musical accompaniment would you like? Very loud probably; let the neighbours complain loudly, too. All hearing aids will be off anyway, I expect! grin
Good Luck and Cheers

I'm another July baby, possibly the "baby" at the Party (I will be 63, nobbut a spring chicken), wish I was still slim so I could wear something stunning, afraid it will have to be a lovely blouse with white cotton trousers & my sparkling personalitygrin. Happy Birthday to all the other July Birthdays. Oh & I will bring a big dish of Coleslaw & a Sherry Trifle

NanKate Fri 06-Jul-18 22:17:13

Only in the Hold I would imagine. ?

Jalima1108 Fri 06-Jul-18 21:46:04

will they let me on the plane?

Jalima1108 Fri 06-Jul-18 21:45:35

It's the Australian Riesling NanKate - very nice but very potent!

NanKate Fri 06-Jul-18 21:41:15

I am a bit worried Jalima are you getting a bit maudlin due to excessive drink, or are you the Ozzy Laureate ?

Jalima1108 Fri 06-Jul-18 20:44:35

twice

Jalima1108 Fri 06-Jul-18 20:44:13

OK - I can manage it:
Beneath our radiant Southern Cross,
We'll toil with hearts and hands,
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands,
For those who've come across the seas
We've boundless plains to share,
With courage let us all combine
To advance Australia fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia fair.

Beneath our radiant Southern Cross,
We'll toil with hearts and hands,
To make this Commonwealth of ours
Renowned of all the lands,
For those who've come across the seas
We've boundless plains to share,
With courage let us all combine
To advance Australia fair.
In joyful strains then let us sing,
Advance Australia fair.

The rest of you have 24 hours to learn it

Jalima1108 Fri 06-Jul-18 20:43:16

Are you really going to sing "Advance Australia Fair"?
Yes!
You'll be brave; standing (or maybe not!) on your own.
I don't mind Rufus, I can croak like a cane toad!!
Australians all let us rejoice
For we are young and free
We've golden soil and wealth for toil,
Our home is girt by sea:
Our land abounds in nature's gifts
Of beauty rich and rare,
In history's page let every stage
Advance Australia fair,
In joyful strains then let us sing
Advance Australia fair.
etc
but I may start blubbing .....

Jalima1108 Fri 06-Jul-18 20:41:01

but what about the football? shock
England will be playing when we're on the plane!

Jalima1108 Fri 06-Jul-18 20:40:09

Eglantine - did you go to my school?
Two of the Tiller girls went to my school grin

Jalima1108 Fri 06-Jul-18 20:39:19

It's OK kittylester, we're all in Australia and it's winter there!

Pack your woollies!
(or thermal underwear under your party frocks)

Overthehills Fri 06-Jul-18 20:29:17

My birthday too on 12 July - I shall be wearing another fetching little number from M&S - lime green swirls on a salmon pink background. Shall I bring some Pimms, as it’s Wimbledon time of year?

Eglantine21 Fri 06-Jul-18 20:02:06

Did you say ‘do a turn” Nankate?

I do a cracking TillerGirls!

(will need to change dress ?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️)

NanKate Fri 06-Jul-18 19:41:38

I’m glad you have come out of the sick bay Kitty in time for the party. Do you think we should employ medical staff in case of anyone having a ‘turn’ ?

kittylester Fri 06-Jul-18 19:27:22

Errrr, I'm slightly concerned about all the candles considering the hose pipe ban.

Oh what the hell, I'm only going to be 69 and a half once!

jacq10 Fri 06-Jul-18 19:16:54

Eglantine21 - agree "that all the best people are born in July"! I'm on the 18th. Don't think it will be as grand an affair as you are all laying on for Rufus2 but am looking forward to it.

Jalima1108 Fri 06-Jul-18 19:09:19

What I meant to say was that we are all flying out to Australia (first class of course) in time to celebrate The Birthday. Hope Birthday Boy has arranged chauffeur-driven limousines to meet us at the airport smile
