Birthday Invitation

Well I believe it is Rufus2 91st on the 8th. We are holding an impromptu virtual party for him. All you need to do is say what you are bringing or doing and what you will wear.
Rufus has promised to be on his best behaviour ?
I will be DJing and wearing a rather fetching sparkly purple jump suit. And before you ask Rufus you can't come in your Birthday suit, this is a respectable party.
Over to you.
Stone the Crows: Not another Birthday!?
All together now:
"I'm 91 to-day, 91 to-day!
I've got the key of the door!
Never been 91 before!
My Carer says I can do what I can,
As long as I'm home by half-past four,
So shout hip, hip, hooray,
For he's a jolly good fellow,
91 to-day.!"
"With apologies to you all!"

I'm being very good! Used up 5 hours of my birthday already (1.00p.m.) and not touched a drop (yet) nor the sausage rolls or pies.
Where are you all? Still fast asleep, I suppose, after post-match celebrations.
Well done Poms and here's to the next round! Croatia eh!?
Catch you later.
Oh yes, of course, sorry ..... jumping the gun. Too much champagne ..... ?
Well Waterloo I want to give Rufus a chance of working out what his present is, I will however be giving clues tomorrow.
Oh NanKate - what is it? I am rubbish with anagrams. I can make out Rufus and goal? But not right as it leaves me with spare letters - oh dear - I’ve just watched too much footy today ??????? ⚽️
Hi folks this is my gift to Rufus for tomorrow. Hope he likes it.
Anagram 3 words.

A present for Rufus?? But I have nothing for him!
shhh don't tell Rufus but I have been round the flea markets and found an old zither, have been practising 'Waltzing Matilda' so I hope you will all join in singing with gusto!!
Back to the footie in a minute - it's half-time wittering at the moment.
I've just switched it on too. Good luck England. I have had to also support Australia (obviously) plus Peru (daughter's partner and Columbia (son's pa-in-law) Only England left now, so no divided loyalties!
and he didn't ^but me anything for my birthday last Sunday^
Sorry Lady DanniRae; I must have missed the announcement in the social columns.
You didn't invite me to your party; so there!
It was 1st day of the month so I was distracted by "Pinch, punch, first day of the month etc' ; as you must have been.! We're not allowed to pinch anyone, anywhere e.g. on the bum, these days, but your posting seem to be inviting a "butt"!
You left off a "t" or did your spellchecker let you down.
And I'm not rushing out anywhere soon; it's 11p.m,
and cold out there. I did rush out earlier for some fish and chips for my tea, but I'm not sure about my birthday tomorrow.
"Virtual" Yorkshire pud and vegies won't keep out the cold; so I'll wait and see if some kind person takes pity on a 91 year old "Friday's Child"
Loving and Giving!
You never know your luck!
Let me know what you buy and perhaps we can do better next year.
Must go, the big match is on soon.
Good Health
A present for Rufus?? But I have nothing for him!
I shan't feel bad though because me being there is a present enough (in my very 'select outfit') and he didn't but me anything for my birthday last Sunday!!
BTW Rufus if you do rush out to get me something I am a girl Danni not a boy Danni
That’s ok, I see you are being distracted already
Waterloosunset; Terribly sorry about that!
I'd forgotten; that was when my Aussie neighbour popped in on July 1 and said " Pinch ,punch, 1st. day of the month" etc and asked if that was still practised in England.
We then wondered if it varied throughout the many dialects and that's when "White Rabbits" came up. Further research into Dr. Google brought up "Black Rabbits" Never heard that before!
It's good to learn something new every day; the trick is to remember it.!
Btw. I trust you're not identifying with "Alice's White Rabbit" with your dashing about!?
Ooroo
I've been more inclined to move the venue to Darwin for a very warm welcome, if you don't mind crocs
I have never found Crocs the most flattering footwear, although presumably very comfortable, but do nothing for “the look”
I’ll stick to wedges if that’s OK with you!
your birthday is tomorrow Rufus the 8th. Am I right?
Spot on! But don't tell me what's in them until it's your breakfast time. I was born in UK time, so birthdays should be observed in UK time; Yes!?
Like everybody else I love getting surprise presents, but "Nothing" is not a surprise!
although I've never had "virtual" presents before.
Except when people might have thought of one then said to themselves "forget it"!
BTW Please ask "gifters" to hang on to receipts just in case.
And advise Jalima and others to pack a parachute before they board their plane!
Ooroo
should think about transferring to the Sydney Opera House. I’m sure that they would give you Mates’ Rates
GreenGran; don't believe that! Your family Sydney branch should be able to amplify on the Syd v Melb rivalry.
I've been more inclined to move the venue to Darwin for a very warm welcome, if you don't mind crocs!
They'd be very happy to eat see you.!
Next time you are passing through Melb, drop in for a comfort stop and whatever. Be glad to see you!
Good Health
I shall arrive in John Travolta's private jet. He is the pilot. My entourage will consist of David and Victoria,Megan and Harry who have asked if Serena and baby can come(hope you don't mind. Look forward to flying in.
Its best you don’t know where Steve is. The less said the better.
(I do have Norfolk relatives in Sydney, but not Melbourne - as far as I know)
And you may call me dumpling - but no one else!
Nfk; Hang on! No one?
Sometime ago a "Steve" did just that if I remember right and he also called me "Rufus Dumpling"!
Somehow thought we were related I believe.
Haven't heard from him since then! What have you done to him?
Ooroo
Whoops! I just realised that you’re in Melbourne, Rufus. I have two children in Perth, and one in Sydney, and they are all freezing right now. I will have to forego the teeshirt and shorts and dig out my thermal onesie and Ugg boots instead. If the dancing gets too hectic, and things warm up, I may have to remove the onesie, but don’t worry. I will wear my best Granny undies. They cover a multitude of sins!
I hope that you have found a big enough venue, as there seem to be a lot of people coming to the party. Maybe you should think about transferring to the Sydney Opera House. I’m sure that they would give you Mates’ Rates, in the interest of International harmony
I will be 79 on 29th, or, as my daughter keeps reminding me - “Eighty next year!” She’s wishing my life away!
I love to be comfortable, especially in this hot weather. Does anyone mind if I come in teeshirt and shorts? I haven’t really got the legs for it, but promise not to frighten the horses!
It’s too hor for cooking, so I will bring lots of crisps and nuts to nibble on. I don’t drink, so tha apple juice will find a home with me.
I haven’t been to a party for ages, and am SO excited!
Oh, if I’d have known I’d have brought the two roofers re-roofing the bungalow opposite. They’ve been wandering around that roof in nothing but shorts, trainers and a sun tan and carrying angle grinders and other manly bits of kit. I’m sure they’d be brilliant with a palm frond.
(And you may call me dumpling - but no one else!)
Morning Rufus. You were talking about rabbits on another thread - “Good Morning Sunday” (1st July). That’s ok, I see you are being distracted already! Must dash - I’m late, I’m late for a very important date .....
nfk or May I call you * dumpling* ?
No thermals or vests needed, but you might need a couple of young lads waving fronds of palm trees over you,
just to keep you cool you understand.
Fiddlesticks, good job I didn’t open the bubbly!
Can I gate crash? I’ve cooked some cheese straws (I’ve noticed there’s rather a lot of cake) and have a couple of Shiraz wine boxes. What’s the weather forecast? I’m just shaking out the creases from my sleeveless midnight blue slinky dress which shows off my slender figure a treat. Do I need to wear a vest and thermal pants under?
Oops you will have to replace the trifle and sausage rolls if you are a day early, so there. Signed Head Girl.
