My bloody foot hurts and I haven't walked or worked today so I'm not tired. Anyone else?

I'm up, only sleep for a couple of hours at a time and it's been like this for years. .it can make for a long night. Just finished a crossword in last Sunday's paper.

That's hard Coolgran I hate not being able to sleep esp if I have work but today I am off too so hopefully catch up later. Nice of you to join me!

I usually sleep quite well but sometimes I wake up at around 3 a.m. too. having gone to sleep at about 11.

I'm a lot more relaxed about that though since I read somewhere that as we get older we tend to sleep in (more or less) four hour "shifts" anyway. So now when I wake up I just think that the second sleep shift will come soon - and it usually does smile

I wish my body would read the article about 4 hour shifts. Just recently it's doing shifts of approx. 2 hours, and I don't like it. Maybe it's the heat, and perhaps when the nights become cooler again, I can sleep for longer. I can dream/daydream. ?

I was woken at 3.30 by a piercing, shrill tone usually reserved for smoke alarms. It happened only once and was not continuous so wondered if it was a battery low signal. Woke DH and described the sound and he said our alarms don't make that noise however he did get up and check round the house for intruders and so on. I lay awake for about three hours before dropping off again and now I have a muzzy head.

I am NOT a good sleeper at the best of times,I am also an extremely light sleeper and can hear that pin drop much to my annoyance!!!
However these last three nights I have had less than 3 hours per night thanks to this unrelenting heat, even with all windows wide open, blinds down during day time and fans full on it defeats me totally....................coupled by this excessive heat bringing in probably twice the amount of tourists that we get...........and since we live near a road leading to some choice beaches it is nose to tail traffic from mid day through and some nights almost all night........Friday and Saturdays in particular.............so I am totally fraying at the seams!!!!
My head feels as though it has been through a wringer and my body aches as though its been under a steam roller!!!!!

Ah! well, this summer sunshine will surely not last for ever!!

I sleep fitfully at best. It usually takes me a couple of hours to drop off, no matter what time I've gone to bed. I was probably still awake while your foot was hurting Menopaws. My problems mostly stem from needing the loo. I'm usually up two or three times in the night. During this hot weather, I've been trying to keep my fluid levels up, whch hasn't helped. Along with the hot flushes, my nights are always broken.
Funnily enough, I don't feel tired in the mornings, so I must be getting sufficient sleep, even if I don't think so.
