Just gone in shower with my hearing aids in!!!!!!

No, but I have jumped in a swimming pool wearing my rather nice non-waterproof watch given by my MIL.
It was fine!

My DH went into the MRI scanner with his in situ, even tho they gave instructions before hand about removing extra "bits"........they had to stop the scan to remove them and afterwards hearing aids didn't work. Luckily he wasn't charged to replace.

I was told when I got them 18 months ago they were worth around £2000 but if I lost one the replacement would be about £50. I did loose one (in the back of beyond in Bhutan!) and was charged £70. Not bad really when the actual cost is considered.

Yep! And washed my hair with them in ?
No harm done, they dried out quickly.

I was fully expecting to have to fork out, but delighted when that did not happen! Still going strong 2 days later. Phew!

Last year at the NHS hearing clinic the sign said £85 for lost or damaged hearing aids so I'm really careful.

We have to pay £100 each for replacements in our area, if they are lost or damaged

oh yes i have done this very thing.It did actually ruin the aid so had to apply for new one and had another hearing test and ended up with two!!!

It happens regularly; once in it is so easy to forget the aids are in my ears. But once the water flows there is no mistaking the noises and that dread feeling Oh not again!

But batteries are not the problem; it is much more the inner working of the aids that need care.

I know you could get waterproof covers for children's hearing aids. Maybe connevans did them.

I wonder if they make waterproof ones LOL .once i started to wash my face and realized i still had my glasses On perhaps this happens when you get older

My DS, when he was about seven, tried to flush his down the toilet, luckily they didn't disappear and lived to work for a few more years.

Have dived into the Red Sea snorkelling, laid back in the bath many times. This is how comfortable they really are. Fennel please do not delay, when I made the decision to do something about occasionally asking people to repeat themselves, was working talking to suicidal people on the phone when they talk in whispers, it would be gross to ask them to repeat anything. Those of us who have dogs or cats put them in the bedside drawer, else you will be as myself showing the technician the crunched remains. Love words, love sounds be part of life's rich tapestry.

My DD (toddler at the time) once buried her hearing aids in the snow when she was making snowmen in the garden.

Had to wait 2 days for the snow to thaw before I found them !

But they dried out ok.

That's another reason I'm delaying getting hearing aids.

Yes, often got into bath or shower and discovered I had forgotten to take them out. Does say how comfortable they are most of the time. Like others, never actually had one damaged this way.
Much more of a problem last winter, when, all muffled up in scarves and hoods, I somehow managed to pull one out of my ear as I was disrobing. Unfortunately, this was in a very busy reception area and it was never discovered and had to get a replacement.

My husband left his hearing aid in his shirt pocket and it went through the wash! I took the battery straight out,wiped the hearing aid with tissues and left it to air dry. Next day it was working perfectly - and looking immaculate which was a bit of a bonus!! ?

DD’s cat stole her hearing aid,chewed it and left It under the bed, apparently they hate the sound they emit?

An elderly friend at our knitting group admitted she had taken a bite out of one of her hearing aids which was next to her seat, when she meant to reach for a chocolate. We had to laugh with her.

I am glad that I am not the only silly billy! - and that there were happy endings. They seem fine so far - so hopefully I have got away with it. I was just pouring water over my yards of hair when I though "Gosh the shower is very noisy tonight!!"

Frequently! And the bath (I only realised as I poured a jug of water over my head to rinse my hair) - and the swimming pool! Batteries out and dried off, they’ve been fine.

I have done this twice in the last few weeks. So far so good' so no whispering. I CAN HEAR YOU!

I'm blaming the heat for everything today.
Someone bashed into my, parked, car and begged me not to go through insurers.
I shouted at DH which was quite unfair.
I'm glad your hearing aids still work.
I dropped my phone down the toilet, not today, it came back to life after a week.
