Thank you Doodle the carer has been moved onto new clients but I am still with the same agency, just a different carer.
However she will still be doing the twice weekly sitting for us.
I have a weeks respite booked for the week after next, July 16to the 23rd.
I am already looking forward to that.

One of THOSE days we all have to some degree now and again but Ann noting yours come in such numbers.......and far too often it must surely sometimes feel as though it is the last straw.
We can well understand these frustrations added to all your other all too real issues are bound to get you down.............so have a rant or two and hope that helps.............we do listen and I know I just feel so feeble because I cannot offer hands on help.
What a shame about the carer whom your H has got to know..........whilst yes Quinsy is not a little light illness at all,but very painful and NOT to be left untreated and pushed "pillar to post" as your poor GD has been.
Hopefully the treatments now helps, but it would still be kinder for her remaining under Hospital care with their drips etc .....until she is again able to eat and drink.
I can only say.............this day will pass and we can but hope for a far kinder one for tomorrow.

Afternoon everyone. All is fine here, just busy with life stuff we wish wasn't happening, if you see what I mean. BT almost sorted but just as a space arrives along come two other things to fill it. Life eh?

Don't despair over the house move panache, we've been there many times as I know others have and it does work out in the end, honestly it does. I just doesn't feel like it at the time.

My sympathies kitty, afraid I am not a natural nurse and so isn't it good that Mr C rarely requires attention, chicken and egg there somewhere I suspect. I hope your husband is on the way to health again, in the mean time distance could be good. You don't need him being poorly as well as family finance stuff, always difficult in my experience.

Goodness ann, sometimes life just isn't fair. I hope your Granddaughter is so much better very soon, A&E isn't a restful place when poorly that's for sure. Not sure what to say about the slippers other than if your husband gets used to seeing them might he change his mind? If not then a chat with M&S, even on the phone to their central customer services, could sort it for you. Fingers crossed the change of carer won't prove to be unsettling for your husband, enough going on without that. Not long until your break, hang on in there, sending love.

Hope you got back in one piece from your marathon charley, that's a fair old walk for one who has had limited exercise recently.

Doodle Torben's daddy is son number three. The 'silver fox's' two daughters, are the mothers of the great grandchildren. He also has a super son. First born son has a daughter and two sons. All are the tops...obviously.

The weather is scorching hot. I doubt that I shall muster enough energy to ride the exercise bike. Maybe later.

MacSporran has to attend a The Village Hall committee meeting this evening. I've to log off and make sure that he's well fed and well dressed for the occasion.

Ann I think it sensible that your GD stays in longer to have extra IV antibiotics. Good also that she is getting on better with her mum.

I do hope that H watched the football, I certainly did and the result was amazing although H would possibly not appreciate that. Because of extra time and penalties if he watched he would be up later and hopefully will sleep throughout the night.

I am about to have a shower- everything else is clean and lovely, I must not let the side down.

I have just read on the Good Morning thread that kittylester has succumbed to her DH’s bug too and send my sympathies.
I had a wonderful afternoon at the little boys’ Musical Extravaganza at their Primary School. It was held on the school field and the children were amazing despite the heat. Then back to their house so that they could run around their garden and (inevitably) watch some World Cup. I decided to drive back during the England match, guessing, correctly, that the motorways might be a bit quieter and was hone in record time. Then I made the mistake of switching the TV on just as Colombia equalised - and I was hooked! So poor Hattie didn’t get her walk until 9.30 (when it was pleasantly cool) and of course we met loads of other dogs doing the same.

Thank you maw! As I said, I will be a much better patient. Actually Dh is still not on top form either! Hey ho!

I'm glad you had a lovely day and enjoyed the football. I went to bed before the end of extra time and went straight to sleep.

We are going out to lunch today, and were going to have a walk afterwards but I have a sudden and unexpected problem with my hip. It came on yesterday after I came back from a short shopping trip and by late afternoon I was hobbling. It is a bit better this morning than yesterday but it is still there. I have to admit to being worried about it, and I hope it is not the start of a slippery slope! We have GS for the weekend coming, and I need to be mobile! Ah well, the joys of ageing....

Sorry to hear of your hip problem Greyduster as always hearing about your activities I read with some envy.......hopefully it is this type of pain that is classed under "something and nothing"............but a real pain at the same time.Hope it is not going to halt you.

I am finding my legs swelling tremendousely now (although they are always rather prone to swelling) whilst the heat stops me from trying to exercise as I like doing,however with evening last night there was some cloud................ so I took full advantage and had a good walk........coming back in dripping with you know what!!

No luck from our viewers and we so wish we could block off that coast road....... which really is more of a menace because of this heat, and folk heading for respite on our coast.
What is to be will be I guess.

However we are visiting a little Market town this afternoon, it is renowned for its quality shops and fine eateries......there is a cute grade 2 listed Victorian Pharmacy that has caught our eye,small and quaint.......a bit like me!!.....and we like quirky.It has a stone walled courtyard and parking at the rear.
At the very least it will get me drooling as I imagine it all dolled up in a French shabby chic style!

I got to the hairdressers in good time yesterday and thought, wrongly, that an hour's rest and I would be ready for the return journey. It was a case of gritting my teeth and making the last 100 yards. Needless to say I spent most of the fabulous football time squirming with pain and the night was no joy. Still, I do like my haircut and my eyebrows were threaded also so at least I am happy on that score. I should be able to drive two weeks today so that will be some of my problems solved. If anybody mentions a hip replacement I will be hobbling to the hills. Nobody warned me that all of this was ahead of me 20 years ago.

I have had a sore and red lower left leg for a few days and managed to get an early GP appointment for 7.50am this morning. I wondered if it was cellulitis.

The GP took 3 tubes of blood to check for an infection (could be from a bite) and to see if I have a clot as that calf is much bigger than my right leg. I should hear by 5pm if it is a clot and will need a scan if so. Not sure what treatment would be lined up for me thereafter.

I feel like a really "creaking gate" at present with my gastritis always needing watching, my asthma needing managing with the high pollen levels and now this. Like you say Charley, nobody warned us that all these things were ahead! Hey ho.

Ive had the sling off and am discharged from hospital.
The nice 10 year old who saw me asked if I’d like to be referred to a shoulder surgeon? An emphatic NO from me! I’ve had enough doctors.
Talking of which I’ve been qualified for 50 years this year!
I’m supposed to go to a reunion in Birmingham, but it coincides with a trip I’ve booked on the Queen Elizabeth. I’m not cancelling that!

What a morning! I couldn't find my phone and wondered if I'd left it somewhere ... again. Phoned friend and arranged to pick her up at 12.15 to go to lunch, told her about the missing phone. Found phone in spare bedroom and left to charge while I went for a brew with another friend. Went to pick up friend at 12.15 - she wasn't there! I waited to see if she would turn up, but no show; so I went home. As soon as I set foot in the house, she rang to say she had left me a message to tell me a friend of her husband had collapsed and she'd had to go to help his wife. Re-arranged lunch for Friday... Hoping for an uneventful evening.

Quite an exciting afternoon although the weather certainly did not help,grey skies but NO rain and as soon as we arrived in this lovely little Market town out came the sweltering sun!!

A real joy parading in and out of those shops which pander very much for the tourist,delightful tea rooms at every turning whilst their floral arrangements were absolutely beautiful.
Of course we had to sample their fare....well it would be rude not to don`t you think?
Our house viewing mission turned out a real disaster on more than one count so that is one struck off the maybe list!

The areas again are awash with very bronzed tourists, and of course our day was not complete without a visit to an even fuller Tenby where the florals there are virging on the spectacular............just waiting for you Corner!!

Sadly, no green and pleasant out there in our countryside with everything so parched.

Whilst my swoollen legs are bulging even some more and Home sweet home is extremely welcome.

Trusting those not having a well day feel better, whilst for the well and able,enjoy your evening.

Elevate those legs panache, pleased you enjoyed your trip out but sorry the viewing wasn’t a positive experience. We did have rain for a couple of hours. Sadly it didn’t really wet the soil. I know I will regret saying this but it did make a nice change.

Coffee was good, we opted for a park cafe and sat watching the squirrels, then a walk on the beach. The physio was more comfortable than expected, wonder what went wrong

One good and two bad pieces of news today. BT is done and dusted. Phew. It’s been a sad day though. Heard that one family member died early today and another is expected to die very soon. Still processing it all. Something else no one warned me about when I was young and family went on forever. A whole generation gone.

Hope you are managing kitty, difficult with two poorly patients in one house.

Blimey anno that was quite a day, tomorrow has to be better.

My GD is still in hospital on intravenous anti b"s but already she is looking so much better than she did last week.
I popped in to see her for half an hour while my H's sitter was here, it is going to be a godsend to me.
Have a peaceful night everyone, I would like to have sat out for much longer but I was too tired and it is cleaner day tomorrow which means me being up at sparrow fart so I must try to get to sleep.
