Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company.
Never mind the weather
Never mind the rain?
As long as we're together
Here we go again...
Welcome and please feel free to open the Bubbly and tuck into a virtual Magnum choc ice. smile

Wow! grannyqueenie I'm bowled over just looking at your photos. I imagine how stunning the display must be in reality. Gorgeous colours and artistic arrangements.

It's another blisteringly hot day in Kintyre. We had a walk and we also had coffee in a shaded area of our garden. I haven't yet caught up with you lot - if you would very kindly sit still for a wee while...wink

soop Sun 01-Jul-18 15:13:11

I've decided not to tiddle with the ram portrait. Therefore, I declare it is finished and ready to back and mount.

annsixty Sun 01-Jul-18 15:26:57

My H has just asked me where my boy friend is!!

MawBroon Sun 01-Jul-18 15:33:14

Gosh I have twice tried to post a pic of Flynn and his car and been thwarted by an unhelpful iPad.
They have gone now, I am detrashing the sittingroom and then I might have a lie down!
Lovely to see/hear his language developing even on what he was saying last week. What a gorgeous age smile

We are having five minutes ( or perhaps an hour!) to recover from our tribe departing before we even try to reclaim the house! The pile of bedding in the lounge is a place to start...

Doodle Sun 01-Jul-18 15:49:36

Knew he'd love it Maw and a new watch too. What a lucky boy ?. Until I saw today's photo I hadn't realised how big Hattie is. She completely fills the whole sofa. Good job her friend was happy on the floor.

grannyqueenie what lovely pictures. Colours are amazing.

Greyduster Sun 01-Jul-18 16:35:41

Well, we got our walk afterward but even choosing the shadiest possible route, it was still hot! We walked from the house and ended up in the country park where the only people not sweltering were the ones on or in the water!

It seems to have been a day for missing pets. While we were out a lady stopped us to ask if we had seen her dog, which had been let off the lead, taken fright and run off in the direction we had just come from, but we hadn’t. It was a Pomeranian, so easy to lose sight of in the sort of terrain we were walking - a wooded trail, by a river! There were lots of people about - I hope someone saw it. When we got back my son texted to say one of his cats had uncharacteristically been awol since last night. I told him not to worry just yet, but I know that he will. Both cats are chipped.

Maw he will be ordering his Aston Martin in no time at all. My GS lived in his little car, but for his third birthday, as he was tractor mad, DH bought him a replica John Deere pedal tractor with a trailer. He was very excited when he first saw it, but I think he was a bit overawed by it and refused to actually sit on it for absolutely ages. He was content just to gather all sorts of bits and pieces to put in the trailer, which he would then disconnect and push around the garden! Funny little chap....

Soop the ram is amazing and I think you were perfectly right not to tinker with it - you have obviously learned a lesson I am still wrestling with! When my friend came to lunch on Friday she made a comment that my picture was still at the same stage as when she last came (absolutely ages ago!) and when was I going to actually put some paint on it? I couldn’t answer that one!

I wish you all a pleasant evening.

Gagagran Sun 01-Jul-18 16:47:22

Maw love the photos and the patio flags are looking good after the power washing?

All 4 of our DGC loved the little car we kept for them at ours and it was just like Flynn's. Great buy.

DH collected his new electric bike this morning but it has been too hot to try out on a proper ride. It's an impressive machine. May be best to go early morning before it gets too hot.

Lovely photo Greyd.

soop Sun 01-Jul-18 16:59:32

More lovely photos. Thank you. I'm logging off until tomorrow. Will be call into the kitchen between matches.
Enjoy a pleasant evening.
Special thoughts going to our friends who are in need of tender, loving care, smile moon

Panache Sun 01-Jul-18 18:53:36

Just time to say a Hello and goodbye almost on the same breath!!
Its been one of those extremely busy weekends and I am feeling totally bushed, however a tad cooler and sadly the 6 drops of rain hardly did the ground any favours!!

Wishing you all a peaceful night after all your family members have headed home............Night all

Bellanonna Sun 01-Jul-18 20:47:31

Really wonderful pictures GQ

Bellanonna Sun 01-Jul-18 20:47:56

Hope your viewing went well Panache

callgirl1 Mon 02-Jul-18 00:03:12

Evening all.
There have been some lovely photos over the last couple of days. Super Soop, fantastic Flynn, and some wonderful flowers and artwork. Greyduster, it definitely looked cooler out on that lake, but I`m a land lubber, like to look at water, but not too keen on being ON it.
I`m pleased that Flynn loved his beep beep, sorry, CAR, and his watch. When my eldest daughter was just 2, she called a car a kertacar, but her playmate, a little boy the same age, was quite posh, he said motor tar.
Panache, that was a scary experience, I hope you`ve recovered a bit more by now, and your hubby.
Soop, I love the ram, glad you decided to leave him as he was, he`s giving you that look, that says don`t meddle with ME.
I was babysitting youngest (10) grandson last night, so from teatime until he went at midnight I had no access to my laptop, he commandeered it as usual!
I know I`m being a bit of a spoilsport, but I`m really longing now for some cooler weather, I need to sleep!!!
We were at the hospital first thing yesterday morning, for Lynne`s MRI scan. She said it was very difficult, and uncomfortable, lying on her back and keeping absolutely still for 30 minutes. We arrived back home at 10.30am and proceeded to have breakfast, there`d been no time before we went out. She has to have a B12 injection every 3 months, the nurse comes here to do it, seeing as she has difficulty getting out. The nurse isn`t allowed to carry the stuff for the injection, so Lynne has to get a prescription and have it here when the nurse comes. What seems a bit unfair is that if she was able to get to the surgery, the injection would be free, but this way she has to pay for the prescription.
I`m so sorry to all the people that I have almost certainly missed out, but my memory is going and I can`t remember all that I`ve read!

cornergran Mon 02-Jul-18 08:15:30

Morning everyone. Quick rush in to wish greyd and mrgreyd a very happy anniversary. Have been awol for a few days. Lots of practical catching up to do, back to the later to catch up properly here.

cornergran Mon 02-Jul-18 08:15:56

To the kitchen of course. Oh dear.

Panache Mon 02-Jul-18 09:02:58

`Morning the Kitchen and all ye who enter within!!!

We had the blessing of some greyness for most of yesterday with a total of 6 drops of rain.........but thankfully the coolness allowed me a favourable night`s sleep........the first in almost a week.
I totally agree in hoping for sunshine but not of the scorching variety.
So I am almost bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning!!

Lovely lot of pictures that really are uplifting, thank you all,of course love the lake one and the picture of coolness of course, whilst Happy 52nd Mr & Mrs Greyduster.....hope it will be a lovely day of great memories.

Your H is certainly keeping an eye on you Ann............though in the circumstances it is no joke at all.

As for young Fynn,he is growing up fast before our eyes and yes,of course its a car, and the gift was immensley pleasing so no hat eating on my account!

Hope the electric bike is a winner Gagagran

Wowee GQueenie...............superb pictures...........mouth watering in fact.
You obviously understand the turmoil we are presently living in,it is far from fun, especially at this age with health issues.......indeed that was ultra scary what happened to my DH.......however the accident you mentioned had fatalities so very much worse.
Flower Shows/arranging.........very much “up my street”.....very difficult though in this intense heat.
Whilst such stunning displays there.......a real work of art.

You too soop have indeed a very artistic flair.

Seems there was quite a performance surrounding Lynne`s M.R.I scan Callgirl..........they are NOT the most comfortable for sure, but they are of enormous value to the Medics........and eventually to our well being. What a carry on about her B12 injection...........making extra work when it is really not needed.
Typical of course.
My DH has recovered thanks but still we are both shaken by the experience.

We are on to mission with B.T Cornergran but feel we have a long way to go........hope you are on a winning streak.

After our disappointment when viewers ourselves on Friday, I must add on a pleasing note we met 2 lovely sets of viewers over the weekend, so very complimentary and it was obvious they were sincere, whilst my decor especially got a great thumbs up from one which pleased me no end!.......and if either set bought we would know our garden would be left in excellent green fingered and caring hands,it was very refreshing to find people so very appreciative of our hard grafting here.

Sad news about the 2 bed/2 bathApartment we viewed a week ago in a Retirement complex in Tenby............it has just gone under offer.........and to find such a place with gated parking and a lovely setting in Tenby is as rare as hen`s teeth!!

So it is very much upwards and onwards...........no further viewers booked and we await to hear if anything comes of these last viewings...........the first lot are actually exchanging this week.

Appreciating your interest *Bellanonna”........nice knowing some read and follow my rantings!!!

I think I may well have overstayed my welcome this morning, but there was SO much to catch up on.............and I do like keeping abreast with all that goes on in your lives, you lead such interesting ones and so it gives me much to think about............thanks to you all.

I think the Aga needs to be switched off though..........what with the sunshine outside little wonder we are melting here within!!
Hope the day and week will be kind to one and all.

NanaandGrampy Mon 02-Jul-18 09:11:55

Morning all !

I cant even pretend to have caught up so will have to do my homework later and read back over the weekend posts.

A good time was had by all at my SiLs 50th Music themed birthday party . I'll add a couple of pictures.... as you can see Grampy and I went as the black eyed peas :-) Jackson went as Michael Jackson ( even paler than the real version ;-) ) and Cooper was a very creditable George Michael.

Anyway , I shall pop back in much later and see what has been going on !!

Gagagran Mon 02-Jul-18 09:58:28

DH is going to take his new electric bike out for it's first test this morning as the humidity has lifted and we have a nice breeze to temper the heat. He is chuffed with it so hope it lives up to expectations!

Fingers crossed you get an offer on your house Panache - it only needs one buyer but then you have to find somewhere to move to and that can be difficult as I know from experience.

The roof trusses have just gone up on the first of the 125 houses they are building in the former green field opposite us. I have been interested to see all the activity involved on the site along with the impressive machines which have such versatility. It would be a little boy's paradise to see the giant "Tonkas" in action! grin

Love your Black Eyed Peas costumes N&G - very clever!

I have left some fresh raspberries and strawberries on the table with a plate of warm scones - fresh from the oven. Help yourselves - there's clotted cream too. wink

Panache Mon 02-Jul-18 11:24:03

After enjoying the pictures N & G............I am happily tucing into some home made scones and delicious they are Gagagran.........and you are NOT wrong about saying trying to find that 1 RIGHT place is as difficult as selling........it is the stuff of nightmares and NOT for those folk of our age!!!!

Greyduster Mon 02-Jul-18 11:29:24

Good morning, the kitchen and thank you Corner and Panache for your good wishes. Himself deserves a medal as big as a frying pan for sticking it out this long!
I
Gaga they are building a new estate which is kind of tacked onto the bottom of ours and we, too, have been fascinated to see how it has all taken shape from the time they broke the ground. I’m not sure the area actually needs the pressure of two hundred new houses, but despite all the perfectly reasonable objections from the local community, it went ahead anyway. Such is life.

N&G that Black Eyed Peas thing is very clever! I’m not sure what the alternatives would have looked like! And Jackson doing his moonwalk! Excellent. Glad you all had a really good time!

Panache I hope whoever buys your house does appreciate and look after your garden. The people who bought ours raved about the garden and then, a year later, dug out every shrub, plant and landscaping feature and put it all to grass. Chacun a son gout! I’m sure it’s very unusual for someone to do that!

After yesterday’s very sweaty walk, we are taking things more quietly today. I am ironing in fits and starts, and trying to get a grease mark out of DH’s trousers where he had an ice cream spillage last week! To be fair, the ice cream was melting almost faster than we could eat it!

I will look in later, folks.

soop Mon 02-Jul-18 12:21:47

Dear Kitcheners...I am awake but I have stuff to attend to before I can flop in my umpires chair to officiate during the opening matches at Wimbles.

Please bear with me. I have looked at the newest display of photos. All worthy of a prize, especially the one of Cooper struttin' his stuff. grin

I shall return in the fullness of time.

annodomini Mon 02-Jul-18 12:40:14

I'll be joining you soop for the next two weeks tennis. Are you well stocked with Magnums?

grannyqueenie Mon 02-Jul-18 13:49:59

Just a quick visit to send Happy Anniversary wishes to you both, greyduster. I’m guessing that if you two are anything like us then the big medals are quite equally deserved! grin

soop Mon 02-Jul-18 14:51:48

anno Er, no! Must get in a heap few Magnums. Thank you for the reminder. wink

A very happy anniversary to dear Mr and Mrs Greyduster Have fun...lots of it. flowers

callgirl1 The MRI scan will have certainly been an uncomfortable procedure for Lynne. I trust that you both had support getting to and from the hospital.

N&G You are the tops. Lovely silly grins...we all feel like that from time to time. My firstborn will be celebrating his 57th birthday in a few days time. I cannot get my head around the fact that he's well on the way to maturity. grin

soop Mon 02-Jul-18 14:54:09

Here is a good photo of him...he's a lovely lad.
