Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company.
Never mind the weather
Never mind the rain?
As long as we're together
Here we go again...
Welcome and please feel free to open the Bubbly and tuck into a virtual Magnum choc ice. smile

soop, enjoy your day tomorrow, I hope there are treats galore to enjoy.
n&g I honestly thought the pool picture was of one of your daughters, maybe best not mention that to them country living must be agreeing with you big time!
Lots of sympathy to those looking for new homes/trying to sell current ones, it can be all consuming and most unsettling. On the decluttering theme, I’m another who would not be able to let the old boy loose on such an activity - it would all end in tears, mine!
chaos, I do hope that leak was in a place that cost you no money and very little inconvenience.
We’ve had a very pleasant day wandering around some local gardens. Despite the recent lack of rain, very unusual for these parts, there was loveliness to enjoy at every turn. A cheeky wee robin joined us to hoover up the crumbs!
I’m off to water my garden, in the hope it’ll look like the photos! Wishing you all a relaxing evening. x

Happy Birthday Soop! Enjoy your lunch.

Have asooper birthday tomorrow soop. wine

DH'S 73Rd today but it is also the first home game of the season so he has gone to the pub with DS1 and I'm having lamb chops and revelling in the Peace and quiet after quite an emotional day volunteering.

I also had an emotional day yesterday. I met friends for lunch and discovered 2 sisters I knew through my children have dementia, one of their husbands is really ill with cancer and someone who was at school with dh has a husband with parkinsons disease and parkinsons related dementia. Then i met a friend in Waitrose who seemed anxious about her husband wandering off with the shopping trolley and, when I said that he wouldn't go far, told me that he had a brain tumour and maybe he wouldn't be going anywhere soon.

One of my friends from lunch who is 82 had fallen off her grandsons mountain bike (!!!!) and broken her arm and I can see how that could have a massive impact on her life going forward. She can't drive, feels unsafe walking and is having to stay with her daughter. Of course we have offered lifts but it's not the same at all.

Whilst, naturally, regretting my awfully crass remark to my friend in the supermarket, I feel somewhat shattered. I know it's not about me but it seems to have hit home. I've been quite nice to dh today.

Sorry, this is all very self indulgent but I feel quite emotional about it all.

Kitty what a catalogue of sadness - I am not surprised that you are feeling down. flowers

Doodle Tue 07-Aug-18 19:59:53

kitty I too cherish my DH. He has had so many things wrong with him I could write a book. He has been in every hospital department (except gynaecology, and I'm still waiting for that ?) but is still with me. I bless every moment I share with him. He is the most kind, caring person and I am blessed to have him. I am so sorry for those who are going through dementia/ Parkinson's/stroke and the like. Who knows what is around the corner. Make the most of every minute.

I also send early birthday wishes soop.
I wish you the very best of days.
Life is so hard for so many people we should celebrate the occasions which we can.

cornergran Tue 07-Aug-18 20:47:28

Evening all. Wishing you a fun day tomorrow, soop: it’s a day to definitely not behave. grin

Oh goodness kitty, what a couple of days. Firstly birthday wishes to Mr Lester, secondly a big hug to you, worries and difficult emotions come when we least expect them, so be kind to yourself. Please don’t fret about the supermarket encounter, how were you to know? I’ve been very nice to Mr C (most of the time) since the weekend with our very poorly friends. I’m saying it a lot at the moment but these encounters do encourage counting blessings. Hope youve been able to relax a bit this evening.

Talking of relaxing that’s on my agenda now. Take care everyone.

Today's the day soop ???
Many happy returns.

ChaosIncorporated Wed 08-Aug-18 07:10:33

Happy birthday, soop !!

Reason to be cheerful : the water leak is not under the house! appears to be just inside the property line, but they now fix between house and road free -as a courtesy- . Booked for the 13th, which will also probably be the last day of life for the forsythia, as I cant see it surviving an uproot.

Gagagran Wed 08-Aug-18 07:15:43

Many Happy Returns of the Day dear Soop. Hope it brings some nice surprises! flowerscupcakewinesunshine

Just popping in ,

We are off to sunny hunny :-) to recce the rock pool situation but wanted to say good morning to all.

Grannie you sweet talker you :-)

Im sorry you encountered so much sadness Kitty , but in my world lamb chops are a good pick me up ;-)

Just for fun , I wondered , if any of you could give Soop a birthday gift , what would it be and why?

I would give her unlimited use of a chauffeur driven car so she could visit her family and those lovely babies as often as she and MacS wanted :-)

Right, I am away for a paddle hopefully, back later xx

Sar53 Wed 08-Aug-18 09:13:50

Happy Birthday Soop, have a lovely day flowers. It is my younger daughter's birthday today as well. A good day.

harrigran Wed 08-Aug-18 09:53:16

Happy birthday soop flowers
DH went to collect a prescription yesterday, pharmacist told him to sit and wait, the chair collapsed and threw DH to floor hitting his head on the wall. I was not with him and was horrified to find they just made him sign an accident form and did not call a medic, it was a medical centre. DH has osteopaenia and it could have resulted in fractures.
