Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company.
Never mind the weather
Never mind the rain?
As long as we're together
Here we go again...
Welcome and please feel free to open the Bubbly and tuck into a virtual Magnum choc ice. smile

My GD has had some gunk aspirated from the abcess on her tonsils but they couldn't get more and there is still some in.
She is on a drip with
IV ab's and fluid as she is dehydrated through not being able to swallow.
She is still on A&E and they are trying to find a bed for her.
However they did say if she can swallow food, drink and tablets later on, she may be able to go home this evening.
She has had lots of hospital stays and just wants to get back home.

Have Googled it. It's a horrible infection and extremely painful. More good vibes for ann's granddaughter who is suffering with this. flowers flowers flowers

soop Tue 03-Jul-18 13:33:23

Quincy? Is that a serious infection of the throat?

soop Tue 03-Jul-18 13:31:43

I've been singing and acting - 'The wheels on the bus...' and 'Row, row, row your boat...' with M at the care home. So pleased to home again, and ready for a spot of umpiring at Wimbles.

callgirl1 Number three son (participating in paragliding competition in distant mountains) is daddy of Torben.

ann Buggerations galore! Some days nothing seems to go right but, these times will pass and Us lot will remain here for you throughout. I feel very sorry to hear that your granddaughter is very poorly. Has the problem been identified? Wishing her a speedy recovery.flowers Take the slippers back to the store. Explain what happened. I'm willing to bet that some kindly person will try to make matters right.

kitty Stomach bugs can be very debilitating. Give dear husband the benefit of the doubt and prescribe a dose of TLC.

Charleyg Yet another step forward. Go gently and enjoy being pampered. Well done x

As for "my boys"...thank you for your very kind comments.

Here is a pic of MacSporran tending the garden.

Back a little later. I need my Wimbledon fix.

JaneD3 Tue 03-Jul-18 13:16:24

flowers to your GD Ann - quinsy is very nasty. And wine for you when things quieten down.

Charleygirl Tue 03-Jul-18 12:02:39

I am walking to the hair salon this pm to get my hair washed, cut and blow dried. It is 1/2 mile away so hopefully I will make it there using my crutches. At least it is cooler than yesterday. I hope that not all of the houses have hedges, I hope that there is the occasional wall for me to rest. I must have some brunch to help me get there. I am slowly losing weight so I am delighted with that.

Ann I do not know what to say- you cannot take the slippers back can you? Maybe if you explained the circumstances they may understand.

Your poor GD- is it a case of self diagnosis and medication now? Not easy when she is trying to work and her employers appear to be unsympathetic.

annsixty Tue 03-Jul-18 11:39:49

This is not a good day.
First thing, was the carer told me after this week she will not be doing H's morning call , however she is still doing the sitting which started yesterday.
Then my GD who has been ill for many days now, having trouble with her employers into the bargain, went to the GP for the 3rd time since last Monday and was sent straight to hospital for treatment on a Quinsy.
She was seen on Friday and told she didn't need ab's, she tried to get an appt yesterday but couldn't, 111 were no help, so now she is really ill.
Then, I had a parcel from M&S, I had ordered the wrong bra size, boating anyone?
My H tried on his new slippers, pulled all the labels off and now says he doesn't like them and has his old ones back on.
It can only get better.

Panache Tue 03-Jul-18 09:55:35

Oh dear Kitty...........you really have a very sick man on your hands and I send my sympathy...........they truly play on every little thing so you have to guess how serious he really is..............perhaps I should don my old nurses cap and apron and head off to nurse him on your behalf?

Seriously though I hope it really is NOT too serious and he will soon be hale and healthy again.

Thanks again for the dose of Karma that arrived thanks to you N&G.......this selling/moving lark at our age is truly "beyond the pale"......after all the compliments I bet there will be a string of complaints...........

I think I need to go lie down in a darkened room!

kittylester Tue 03-Jul-18 09:46:12

This is the 3rd day Jane!! How long have I got to cope? He has cheered up a bit now though as he saw the gp on Monday (before he became ill!) who referred him for a hip xray. The local hospital rang this morning, he managed to speak to them and now has an appointment next Monday. He's had to lie down after the exertion though.

I think I'm not a good nurse and am like you, n&g and hate any fuss when I am ill. I wish dh was like that then I could get on! Enjoy your coffee morning - don't really imagine it's your scene.

JaneD3 Tue 03-Jul-18 09:29:20

Oh dear Kitty! I hope it’s only a 24 hour bug and that you don’t get it. It is doing the rounds in a school south of the city ...
Hello to everyone else - enjoy your day!

NanaandGrampy Tue 03-Jul-18 09:25:48

Morning all !!

I hated the whole moving process Panache so I can truly imagine how you feel. The control is all in the purchasers hands and people tend to say lovely things then never be seen again. I am NEVER moving again - so can afford to send you a healthy dose of Karma and hope both buyers and a property you like all fall into line for you.

Men eh? Kitty . I am of the school, when poorly, to just be left alone in peace to suffer. Grampy requires full time nursing , probably a nurses uniform and a bell in case I don't rush to his side quickly enough!!!

I am off to a coffee morning at the church which I have cunningly evaded for 3 months. It is for people with 'Wheels' !! I take that to not mean cars lol . I'm sure it will be perfectly lovely , but its hot here, the paddling pool is calling my name and I'm on a diet so no cake ( or magnums !!)

Wish me luck ! I hope there are magnums a plenty for you lot !!

kittylester Tue 03-Jul-18 09:02:08

Morning all - just need to escape for a little rest! Dh has bubonic plague!! Well a stomach bug really. We have to count the number of trips to the loo and the times between, take temperatures, hourly, (it's nearly 100!) analyse where he might have caught it - was it a poorly washed glass at the pub, all the people at the Space Centre or, possibly, the dgc! Luckily, I'm out this pm......if he's well enough to be left!! grin

Panache Tue 03-Jul-18 08:10:28

Top o` the morning from west Wales and yes my kitchen friends we are fully back to our wall to wall sunshine!

A little sad that the slight "blip" over the weekend produced no real rain, for much like the farmers and garden producers, we too badly do need it............whilst of course we are being respectfully requested to ease back on our usage of what is fast becoming almost "liquid gold!!"

My word soop you have surpassed yourself producing 3 such handsome chaps, you must truly be so proud, however it is only by noting their ages I realise your own age just as I was under the impression you were much younger than myself!!!
Welcome to this age group!

Hope you enjoyed yesterday Greyduster and relived some happy wedding days! How the time flies, and yes so do we!!

I positively dislike the smells of barbecuing too Annodomini........it is far more off putting than stimulating the appetite I find.
Living as we now do in the midst of the country we have exchanged those smells for "muck spreading" which is equally foul!

Nana&grampy.......you certainly know the score and predicament we are in with this darned house sale and all its hassles,it really is no fun and although we had a very happy couple of viewers over the weekend we dread hearing our busy summer road put them off............although on the other hand, having lost another choice Apartment (and they are rare as hen`s teeth) we have nothing in mind to move into.........Please send us a sprinkling of Karma!
Thanks for your kind words Kitty.......you are one busy lady and it very much reminds me of all my involvement (all be it in Cancer) up to some 4/5 years ago........never a dull minute but still loving it.
The satisfaction it brings is second to none.

I feel sure there will be few magnums left after today so I will buzz on and leave them all for the next handful of visitors to our kitchen............have yourselves a truly good day........and be kind to yourselves.

Bellanonna Tue 03-Jul-18 00:43:37

I’m late too! Very best wishes Greydyster.
As Callgirl says, thee lovely young men Soop!

callgirl1 Tue 03-Jul-18 00:33:49

Belated Happy Anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Greyduster, sorry to be late.
Soop, those are 3 handsome boys you have there. Which one is Torben`s Dad?
I`ve just spent my usual late Monday night hour doing my Tesco online order, a job I hate, but it has to be done, and Lynne won`t do it, so it`s Muggins`s job.

Greyduster Mon 02-Jul-18 19:24:21

Thank you all for your good wishes!

Greyduster Mon 02-Jul-18 19:22:48

do you think if will last?. kitty grin. Touch and go unless the weather cools down a bit!!

Doodle Mon 02-Jul-18 18:34:38

Happy anniversary Mr and Mrs greyduster ?

soop what a handsome bunch your 'boys' are. grin

In this heat, I have come up with a new kitchen saying, "Keep calm and have a Magnum". Plenty in the fridge for all just don't eat all the chocolate praline ones grin

annodomini Mon 02-Jul-18 18:21:33

Oh dear! I think someone is having a barbecue around here otherwise why would there be a strong odour of burning meat. Must just fetch in the laundry before it is contaminated!
OK, rescued it. Now...what can I get away without ironing?

NanaandGrampy Mon 02-Jul-18 17:41:00

Afternoon all !!

Its a beautiful day here , there will be no complaining for me because I hate grey , dark days. Mind you I might feel differently if I was still working :-)

I had a chuckle at your silver fox gagagran ( although I totally agree!) , I used to know someone who all the ladies called the silver fox...men often look so good with silver hair don't they?

Good looking boys soop !!

Our offer of space in the ditch is still on Kitty - plenty of space for the idiot !!

VERY happy anniversary grey to you and Mr Grey !!

We felt similarly to you Panache when during our sale saga we lost a place we had set our hearts on. But Karma is wonderful and if that hadn't happened we wouldn't be in our happy place now. So maybe it was not meant to be but something better will surprise you.

I have read everyone's news, so forgive me if I don't comment on everything.

Love the pictures grannie how beautiful!

Just wanted to send you a warm ( or maybe that should be a cool ) hug ann . This place is exactly where you can unburden yourself , not one person here judges you for that . I promise x

I hope everyone has a little ray of sunshine today xx

Gagagran Mon 02-Jul-18 17:06:18

Wow! Soop - what a trio of handsome boys you've got. I took a special liking to no.2 - your silver fox. Whew! Iced water called for!

kittylester Mon 02-Jul-18 17:05:04

Okaaaaay! I hadn't realised quite how much I'd missed. Please can I claim extenuating circumstances and say that I have read everything but I don't have enough time to mention everyone. Mentioning no names but The Idiot and DH's older brother (80 last week) and DH's attitude to him, are causing quite a bit of angst here and I'm fairly stressed.

Many congratulations to the Greydusters - do you think it will last?

soop - sons almost reaching maturity is a scary prospect isn't it? I have a couple myself. You look good on it - it must be the magnums. grin

I hope all is well with ann - or as well as can be! And I hope there is good news in the offing for Panache.

I did an interview for the village magazine this morning trying to raise awareness of the Alzheimer's Society and the Carer's Courses we run. They have now asked me to supply a photo - strange when my intention was to entice people in not make them head for the hills!!

Sorry to make this a fleeting visit but I must go and sort out DH's plan to 'lend' money to his silly brother!!

soop Mon 02-Jul-18 16:48:57

I compromised. Did just over fifteen minutes. I'm knackered. Far too hot for such fun and games.

Back to watch tennis.

I shall return to the kitchen after care home visit in the morning.

Take care and relax....smile moon

soop Mon 02-Jul-18 16:27:41

Now for a twenty ten minute spin on the exercise bike. Don't ask...

soop Mon 02-Jul-18 16:25:19

I had better add the middle and young son...just to be fair grin Such good boys!
