Soop's comfortable and friendly kitchen...

Good morning all.
I am so pleased your day went well soop you deserve it.
I have just dropped my H off for his first day at day care at the place he goes for respite.
The two sitting sessions at home were not working for me, I was forcing myself to go out for 3 hours twice a week and I really didn't want to.
This way I am getting 7 and a half hours for myself, in the house if I want or going out if I choose.
He will get lunch and tea so no main meal for me to cook, win, win for me.
The Psychiatrist who visited on Monday is recommending another tablet for him for his anxiety but no phone call from our surgery yet, the wheels grind very slowly.
We had rain yesterday for a short time but nice again today if cooler.
I must get on now with my planned jobs, the first of which is to sort out my Gas and Electric contract which ends very soon.

A slow start today, which does not bode well for pre-visitor shopping, bed-making, baking, or being ahead of the game. Just as well this is a very old friend who won't be doing a 'white gloves' inspection!
Does anyone know where I can buy tinned motivation?!

We actually have a grey day with a little rain here so far, its refreshing !! Had a lovely day in sunny hunny yesterday . Sadly the beach at both ends of the town proved totally inaccessible for me so I dint get a paddle BUT I did get an unexpected offer !!

We sat in the car ( to avoid HUGE seagull thieves) and had some chips ( hard to beat by the sea) . We were just enjoying them when Grampy said to me 'Do you want half my sausage' ?

I'm sorry to lower the tone but I burst out laughing. My naughty mind had put a lewd connation on his innocent offer. When he realised why I was laughing , he couldn't help but laugh too and for several minutes we were helpless with laughter over the whole thing.

Silly I know but laughing IS the best medicine.

Oh Callgirl that was upsetting , I can totally understand. Its one of those occasions where it would have been somehow better to able to blame someone else but impossible to do. I hope you feel a bit better now?

I was going to do the laundry today but the weather has conspired against me ...so crafting it is :-)

Its a tough life but someone has to do it !!

Oh callgirl, poor you, I’m so sorry you’ve had such a horrible experience. It just makes you feel unsettled and a bit vulnerable when someone takes advantage of you like that, doesn’t it?
soop you look just lovely in that birthday photo. The description of you and your lovely man sitting on a bench enjoying a Kintyre view brought a lump to my throat, especially poignant when you’ve just had sad news of a friend. Wishing you many more times enjoying that view in each other’s company in the future.

callgirl I am so sorry to hear that you lost so much money-some people appear to be really callous pocketing that amount and walking on. I also would have been extremely upset.

callgirl I am so sorry for your experience and I would have been so upset myself.
I once had my handbag stolen under my nose and I found it devastating, it wasn't the money taken, it was the personal things I lost and the fact that is was so deliberate, I would never have done such a thing in a million years.
You will get over it and treat it as a lesson but it will rankle with you for a long time

Glad I popped by though if only to see that perfectly charming photo Soop you look so elegant and indeed your looks are every bit as lovely as the inside is........you tell your McS that he is one lucky man and he has to treat you with great care and kid gloves!!! .......... that I know he has and will do.He reckoned he had found a gem all those many years ago!!!!

I`m sorry I haven`t been on here for a while, I`ve posted occasionally on other topics, but still recovering from an upsetting happening that was all my own fault, but it doesn`t make me feel any better. A couple of weeks ago I got back from town, in a taxi as usual. Now I always, ALWAYS, put my change away and put my purse back in my bag before leaving the taxi. For some reason, heaven knows why, this time I looped my purse strap over my wrist instead, and DIDN`T FASTEN MY PURSE!! I didn`t even realise until the day after that £150 was missing from my purse, plus 2 books of stamps, 1st and 2nd class, my phone top up card and a few other bits. My son came and looked at the CCTV footage, and I can clearly be seen with my purse over my wrist and stuff dropping out, some on the front, the rest in the passage at the side of the house. It must have been the stamps and other stuff that dropped on the road at the front, because a lady walked past and bent to pick up one item, before walking on. Then just a minute or so after I came in the house, a man walked down the passage, picked up what must have been my £150 and pocketed it. That was worse really than being daft enough to lose it, seeing someone pocketing it. Later that afternoon, my daughter called, said she`d found a book of stamps outside, and shared them with me, neither of us


realising they were MY stamps, lol!!
Anyway, now I`ve admitted to how stupid I am, I`m back.

I've loved every minute of today. We're sitting on the garden seat, and drinking in the beautiful sea view.

Once again, if I have forgotten to mention that I feel truly blest knowing you lot...then, once again, a most sincere thank you for all the companionship that you bring into my day.

Kitty My goodness, life can throw some wicked spanners into the mix. Your friends, like a few of our friends, are experiencing the downside of ageing. Inside my card from a dear friend living in Devon, was a short letter to inform us of her lovely, gentle husband's death at the weekend. He was a true gentleman. Both MacS and I shed a tear.

I really do need to re-join MacS on the bench, in the sunshine. I couldn't log off without sending love to all of you. xxx

Well, I'm back and a trifle squiffy. Hic! Have read the umpteen messages and wish to say an enormous thank you from the bottom of my heart for so many kind words. We've had a lovely lunch. Sun is shining. We now have to price and prepare some artwork for the Clachan art show. I should be ironing. I shall do so tomorrow. Art has to be in by tomorrow afternoon. Love to you all.

Happy birthday Soop, have a lovely day. Sympathy to all those with friends with health problems, we have been to two funerals lately, memorial service soon and a friend now home for palliative care. Makes us realise that we must all seize the day.

N&G. I hope you take a change of clothes when you explore the coast with your GSs. When we moved to Norfolk, we soon learnt that the first thing DS2 did was fall in the water! Our happy hunting ground was Holme-Next-the Sea, just along from Hunstanton. My ex's swimming trunks were swept away by the current - but that's another story!
