Well the dust has just about settled here. GS has gone home; DS has gone home; and, lovely as it was to have them both, I am now enjoying the peace and quiet. Neither of them stop talking from the moment they get up to the moment they go to bed, and, especially with DS, I have to gallop to keep up with every change in subject. Nice to have some interesting and erudite conversation, though!
We took the little lad canoeing yesterday and, true to form, he managed to drop his paddle in the lake (fortunately they float). Turning a canoe around is rather tantamount to turning an aircraft carrier, but on a much smaller scale, especially when the remaining paddlers are paddling in the wrong sequence and Captain Bligh (grandad) is cursing Fletcher Christian (Nanny) from the stern! We got there in the end. Photo of Midshipman Duster after we got back to port.
Corner I loved your photos of Wells. We stopped there one year on our way to Cornwall and always said we would go back again, we liked it so much. We stayed in a B&B in Wookie and the owners’ daughter was getting married and having her wedding reception in the grounds of the Bishop’s Palace. It was going to be some ‘do’ by the sound of it.
Soop I hope you are looking forward to your holiday as much as I am looking forward to mine. Five days - and a great pile of ironing - to go! Any offers? I could pay you in Magnums!
I will look in later.
