Just weird threads in general - the face stroking one, the children in the back seat one, the granddaughter’s sleeping arrangements one to name three.
Plus quite a lot of spam/advertising which seemed to take ages to be deleted.

Good evening from a pair of zombies! That’s what 48 hours of DGC does in this heat but great fun. Too cloudy for the blood moon but no rain yet which is the worst of both worlds.

There were around 4 spots of rain where I live. maybe the heavens will open during the night but I doubt it. It is so muggy it really is horrible.

Aha! It has come over very gloomy here and the wind is getting up (first time I’ve cool all day!), so I hope the rain is on its way at last!

His Highness McSporran is certainly a brave man to cope with all that zapping on his kingly crown. I bet he doesn't complain much. soop your efforts on behalf of all those in the care home should be applauded. How kind and thoughtful you are.

We have had a few minutes downpour but now just overcast. Still waiting for a bit more but DH wants to go out and see if he can photograph the blood moon. Too many clouds I fear

We have had very little rain and only one rumble of thunder.
I would so like to see a proper downpour to bring back a little of the green in the garden.

We just had a 15 minute downpour here in Suffolk, and outside it does feel cooler. Different story indoors though.

panache what did you do about the things you couldn’t take with you? I’m thinking furniture which would be too big. We know we have any amount of junk in the garage, but we would need a cull too of the kitchen cupboards, cookery books and all sorts of other things. I suspect the extended family may be offered to take their pick!

I am sitting here patiently waiting for the promised rain. Even Alexa told me that rain was promised here. The clouds have been dark but all that has happened is that it is twice as muggy. When Tara comes home I will be having yet another shower and retiring to bed to read my book. I am at the stage of hating this weather now.

Hallelujah! We have some rain! Not a drop has dropped on us here in our south coast enclave since 31 May and at last we have had a fairly mini-storm, with some thunder and a few lightning bolts, and now, lots of lovely summer rain. It smells wonderful and feels even better - cool and fresh. Can't wait for bedtime to see how much easier sleeping will be!

We stocked up on Magnums at Tesco yesterday too Panache. Worth a visit folks.

I'm jiggered. I went to bed early as I was so tired (I suspect we all are!) We had a cold call at 11.30 pm and I didn't get back to sleep after.

This morning was spent bitting and bobbing, lunch time we went to look at yet another option for my new car and then we went to watch Persie in her performance. She had a ball but dancing in time to the music is definitely not her forte! She can carry a tune though so all is not lost!

Off to find a different variety of cold with salad. I'll be back later if the promised down pour allows us to keep using the internet!

I have spent an entire afternoon sourcing headphones for a personal CD player. Our pal in the care home has often mentioned that he would enjoy "talking books". Another pal has given him one of her CD players but the tiny ear-buds aren't suitable for our care home pal. He damaged an ear, long ago, playing rugby. Hence, all afternoon trawling through headphones hopefully suitable for the personal player. I know very little about such things. Messages have been sent and received with sellers on eBay and, deep breath, if I've chosen correctly, the earphones will be posted asap. If not right, the seller says he'll take them back at no charge to me. That's fair. I like that type of seller.

I know I'm wittering on about something that you will find of little interest. By the time I visit our kitchen tomorrow, I shall have more spare time for a mega catch-up. Lovely photos, N&G

I can well understand you finding this down sizing is quite a scary business,if I have one bit of advice it would be to get your mind set well into realising this is totally different from any of your previous moves.One really has to dig deep into your resources to accept these differences and thereafter it is far easier to "Sort the wood from the trees".......though in this case it means the ideal small and cosy from the mansion!!

Trusting you have your packing all done GreyD........perhaps remembering to add wet weather gear too as a precaution!
However hopefully, it will be fine and sunny all the way.

You are not the first to stay they may move into Waitrose Corner and I know what you mean...........our M & S is like a freezer.......before you even enter their Food Hall.

Having enjoyed the exciting stage of the Tour de France I think it maybe time to have a little wander .....our geraniums which have bloomed beautifully all of a sudden look rather distressed ........so I shall do a spot of pampering!!!

We got our promised thunderstorm this morning at around 4.00 - a bit of a pathetic effort. About 5mins of rain, one clap of thunder and a few feeble bits of lightning. However it returned at about 7.00, with some heavy rain but we are back into temperatures in the 30’s and no air.
We took a drive out to the town we decided we wanted to live in, to take a look at some of the houses we’d seen online, and where they were in relation to walking distances etc. The first we ruled out as being too far out of town but we parked up and walked around and found a couple of the others which looked promising. In fact we popped into one of the estate agents and were able to look at one as its empty at present. I know we are downsizing but oh, it looked so small! That said, it does suit most of our criteria so some hard thinking to be done.

Keep cool as you can people, and do partake of the magnums (8 for £3 in Tesco this week!)

I washed my hair and had a shower this am but after a couple of hours out and about I came home dripping wet. Not a pretty sight. Waitrose had almost run out of ice cream- mainly the most expensive left but I was lucky finding what I wanted. No sign of rain here- it really is too much now. Still, once indoors I can look after myself and that is the main thing- I do not need to go out until after the weekend. There does appear to be a slight breeze so that is mildly refreshing. If I had the energy to go upstairs I have clothes to wash but that may well be a step too far.

I think I can just add Good morning before noon strikes on the clock!

Actually we awoke to grey skies and cloud after sunshine throughout yesterday......so we thought rain,glorious rain was afoot..........only to find the sun reappearing.
However here on our west coast in Wales it is undountedly great beach weather...........if you can find a free spot!.....our temperatures are far more in the comfortable region.

Looking slightly dapper with hair nice and short,just a peaceful day...... with a spot of Tour de France I guess will pass this day off rather nicely.
My fingers are truly twitching to be doing something well and truly practiical.......

Thinking of you all sweltering.......... and as much as I would love some chocolate cake Izabella..........do you mind if I help myself to your broad beans? They are a particular favourite of mine,although I have to treat my inners with kid gloves these days.

So far, no thunder our side of the Pennines, Grey. The sky is that hot, pale blue and there's a gentle breeze stirring the tree tops. Temperature already in the upper 20s. I feel as if I am under siege!

DH was just reading out the weather forecast when there was lightning followed by a clap of thunder so loud I almost fell off my chair!! It has been rumbling around all night, but that was scary! Hope you have a good flight, Izabella and as this is not one of my fast days, I will help myself to a slice of your cake, thankyou!

Popping in for a catch up. My word such a lot going on. I am leaving some fresh veg from the garden in the kitchen as popping up to Scotland today ?. Courgettes, potatoes, broad beans and fresh herbs. Also a rather wondrous chocolate cake for those who are sugar orientated.

Lots of thunder here rolling around. Just hope any rain keeps off until we are safely on the airport bus.

Take it easy N&G; it has to cool down sooner or later - doesn’t it? No let up here at the moment either, although right now we are supposed to be in the middle of a thunderstorm. Kids seem to lap it up though don’t they - they certainly don’t look as if they’re feeling the heat! I should put the pool out of bounds and claim it for yourself!! .

It is just too hot for much here . I have not caught up and I just can’t be bothered. I’m so sorry !!

We have the big kids for a few days and spent the day at the zoo, Grampy and I are bushed, the kids have their second wind of course!!

I’ll be back when I’m a bit cooler ( if ever! ) !!

I am back in the land of the living- my computer has been fixed. I think the fellow who I met for the first time likened me to his mother because of the blank looks he received when asking me a technical question. He fixed it very quickly- here for around 15 minutes but would not accept a penny. Luckily he lives close by. There are some decent people around still.

Quick visit to pay my respects to our royalty. Goodness soop, is a slight bob OK or is a full curtesy required? A cousin traced my fathers line in a similar way, no royalty there. Not that I’m surprised.

I’ve never managed to travel light greyd, no point being miserable because that just right item was left at home .

No sign of rain here. Maybe some tomorrow, hoping to avoid storms but would very much welcome some gentle rain. Our warmest day yet, nice and cool in Waitrose though. I may move in .
