I saw them about 50 years ago in at the Birmingham Odeon! Good job my boyfriend ( who became my 1st husband) was a Stone's fan and knew their music as you couldn't hear a thing over all the screaming girls??.

I tried to get tickets but the cost was prohibitive and it is good that I did not having just had major surgery I would not make it to the venue next month and really enjoy it.

I agree, where Mick Jagger gets his energy from is beyond me. OA obviously has not hit him!

nanasam I'm not sure Keith recognises anyone now! He seems in his own world. How he can still pay so well is incredible, my partner had to give up the guitar at about 60 due to arthritis in his hands.

Thanks GrandmaMoira I wish I had Jagger's energy too, do you think he will be dosing up with Sulphadeine before the performance like me?

Never saw them in the 60s, I do regret that kittylester but think I'm making up for that now!

I am so green with envy envy I saw them 50+ yrs ago in New Brighton along with Hermans Hermits fond memories indeed.
I remember buying their first hit called "Come On" I played it day and night until my dad hid the record player from me.

I had a date with Keith Richards in 1964. Do you think he'd recognise me now?! grin

Enjoy - I'm 66 as well and I saw the Stones a couple of weeks ago with my son. They were great. I also insisted on a seat. The last time I saw the Stones was 52 years ago at the Albert Hall. I would never have believed I would go to concerts with the same band half a century apart. I wish I had Jagger's energy!

Enjoy!!

My brother just saw them and said they were fabulous. I saw them about 40 years ago and was largely unimpressed.

I'm ironing my best jeans as I'm going to see the Rolling Stones tonight. I remember when I last saw them 25 years ago, I was joking with my then boss about whether I would be still be seeing them when I got to my 60s, which seemed a long way off then! And here I am at 66 and Jagger is 76, I think, and I'm preparing to see them again with my daughter tonight. At least I insisted on a seat this time, but I had better make sure I take my painkillers before they come on. Don't want my hip to seize up!!
