Oh No!

You can always remember about the day you had a rare orchid at the bottom of your garden. How lovely to have such a useful carer - she sounds like a treasure. Hope you managed to thank her with a big smile on your face.

Maybe it will pop up again - keep an eye on that spot.

It was a very kind gesture on her part! She thought I disliked mowing that area so even kinder!

Oh no! How kind of her to do a job that she thought you disliked, but what a shame. Fingers crossed that whatever treasure was down there grows back.

Yes, imagine that it was a lovely orchid ( which may return)
Even if it was probably a weed.
Having the lawn all mowed and neat is worth something though.
I nurtured a plant along ( which appeared out of nowhere)
And was very pretty, and then saw it was growing wild in the hedgerows.....doh! Thousands of them.

I don't think the phrase has ever crossed my lips before, but today I can say, midgey, I feel your pain. Why? Because today The Wonderful Man took it upon himself to 'prune' the plants in MY little raised bed. The plants that were just about to flower a second time and had all the new little buds on! Not content with that he then chopped down a tree in the front garden that squashed a peony that was also in bud. Could his new-found enthusiasm in the garden have anything to do with the fact I finally employed a gardener who started last week? Hmm....... I wonder!
