Pretty plant

I was walking along by an very old stonewall yesterday and came across a beautiful trailing plant, which I now know is called toadflax. It does seem a very ugly name for what is a very beautiful plant, a bit like a tiny orchid.

It lifted the spirits.

If it's ivy leaved toadflax, you can open and shut them like snapdragons! It's one of my favourite wild flowers.

My DD, DGD and I stopped by them for ages as we all agreed how pretty they are. The flowers were tiny and so pretty. At the same time we also saw jackdaws, their nests in the walls and heard the babies squealing for their tea.

I first saw this plant in Wales, more years ago than I care to remember, and brought a cutting home . A lovely thing with blue/lavender flowers, snapdragons in miniature.
