I hear thunder

What a day it's been here in Kent !

Terrific storms, floods all over, no trains from our station and they can't lay on buses as the road is impassable. Herne Bay rail station underpass flooded. M2 flooded.
Our town is actually marooned at the moment.
Glug, glug..........

We had lots of thunder here, too in Central Europe and some rain. We were all driving home from our weekend away, having celebrated DS2's wedding, and DiL1 was on her own with DGS.

DiL is terrified of thunder and any big bangs (first thing she did when she arrived at the party was get us to hide the balloons) but she tries hard not to pass it on to DGS. However, he was covering his ears at the sound of thunder, but didn't seem too committed to doing it.

You would be welcome to it Stormy! Fortunately the dog is storm and fireworks proof, doesn't turn a hair, but what a storm! Thought it was never going to end, and it's still very misty this morning. There were some roads impassable in the city but we are on high ground here...phew

Not sniff or rumble here, south of Preston, can we have yours. I appreciate the dogs going bananas but I like thunder storms.

Thankfully Power back on.

We had to walk home from daughters wedding last night ( no taxis)
The walk was over 2 miles but all along the sea front: A-ma-zing!! I think it was the only thing that kept me going, or was it the G&Ts.

And has been as dark as night...

Well, it is near here so could be anywhere, slightly North West of Brum I think, but there have been some bad flash floods..

I could hear the distant and continuous thunder and hoped it wasn’t headed back here but it only rumbled in the distance.

Has been continuously thundering here in Birmingham for about the last 3 hours. Some torrential rain too.

Fortunate!

Had lovely sunny day in Derbyshire with our 2 little grandsons.
Left at 3pm and had only a few drops rain on way home.
Congratulated ourselves on how fortune we were with the weather.
Arrived back home to flooded garage!

No sign of it in Lancashire. We've no pets so not a worry, but feel for all your pets that have been upset overnight.

Teetime, it was in Leicestershire at 3.30 am. Looks like you could be in for round two!

Quiet night, and a beautiful day in Northumberland. This is the place to be.??

Just arrived here near Bristol. VERY loud and the rain is almost as noisy!

Apparently coming here to the East Midlands this afternoon.

It must have moved up from South East as friends had it 10pm and it started here in N Kent about midnight. We had continuous lightening flashes but only one or two rumbles and very little rain.

We no longer have a dog to be frightened by storms. Personally I love lying in bed with a window open, listening to thunder and pelting rain! We had almost continuous lightning here. Garden has had a good drink and smells lovely this morning.

My husband came up to bed with the dog under his arm and said "The poor dog is terrified of the thunder, I'll sleep in the spare room with her". I was barely awake so I agreed and turned over and went back to sleep. BTW they are still up there now! (Dog has been out for a wee and went back up.)

Here in Dorset he thunder and rain started around 7 yesterday evening, an hour or so after we got back from family bbq so well timed. We didn't see any of the lightning though. Carried on for a while and then it was just the rain, that has just stopped again now and the sun is shining - looking at the sky it probably won't be for long.

I slept like a log so I don't think we had it in Cambridgeshire. The dogs would have woken me up I'm sure.

Feeling lucky because I needed that sleep.

We had some lightning and a few quiet rumbles at 10pmAuntieflo but not enough to bring the cat in when we called him. Our night was disturbed by a car alarm going off twice. Don't know whether that had anything to do with the weather.
