Royal wedding obsession!

Well i think it's rather generous to invite 600 commoners anyway even if it is only to tge grounds and bring your own pucnic. They will get a really good view of the couple coming out of the chapel

I wish them well but cannot sit in and watch it all unfold. Luckily there was a show on at our local theatre and a friend of mine and I wanted to see it but every day was sold out except for Saturday 19th May presumably because people either want to watch the wedding or the football. So we will be going to the theatre instead and I will catch the highlights which no doubt will be replayed until eternity.

Apparently Queen Victoria gave two of her daughters away at their weddings, after Albert died so there is a precedent!

Did anyone else read that the 600+ commoners who have been invited to the grounds have been advised on the invitation to bring their own food and drink as there will be no catering facilities.

I understand the Royal Family are paying for the wedding, although Meghan is paying for her dress.

Could someone please explain to me why a couple getting married in the richest family, definitely in UK if not the World, are needing to have all expenses for their bash paid for by the taxpayer????

I think more of it as being escorted; a long way to walk alone with every eye on you.

I think modern women should walk themselves down the aisle. All this "giving away" crap is a bit medieval.

In some things I am a traditionalist, I hope she can find a man to escort her down the aisle . Hope she does have the little ones walk ahead of her.

I shall watch, I like watching weddings, not interested in the bride , like looking at the guests and their hats ?

Shame she doesn't have a trusty old male friend to step in if dad doesn't make it. I know this wedding is bucking the traditional trend but it just feels wrong to me if mom does it.

I'll be watching on Saturday, bubbly and chocs to hand, but even I am fed up with the hoo hah about Meghan's Dad and whether or not he'll put in an appearance. As for 'walking her down the aisle', her Mom will do it just fine. Lets hear no more about the Dad, fhs!

I'm with you Maggiemaybe unfortunately I am at my volunteer job in the morning but I will be recording the wedding to watch later. At least I will be able to skip all the boring bits

I wish them luck but otherwise no particularly interested. I’ll probably look in to see what people are wearing otherwise it is the garden centre for us.

Funnily enough, I don’t think that there has been all that much hype about this wedding, not nearly as much as Charles and Diana or William and Kate.
Mind you, I rarely read the newspapers.
It will soon be over anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if they got paid to wear those hats.

It's Eugenie, not Beatrice, who is getting married later on in the year and I hope Kate gets her own back!

IIRC Beatrice auctioned the hat for charity after the public response to it, she took it in good spirit!

I doubt she will be wearing anything so directional to her own upcoming wedding though haha
