Gd it sounds like good news for your DH. I hope left and right are working together.

The practice we go to had a reputation for being the best in town when we went there 40 years ago - we feel it still is. We are actually out of their catchment area but when we moved to this village they offered to let us stay. Thankfully!

Good news - and kind considerate staff. All great!

I have had a couple of collapses with severe pain and on each occasion my liver function and amylase have gone slightly squiffy for a couple of weeks - I am seeing a gastro-enterologist this afternoon at 3. And yesterday I had a call from ENT offering me an urgent appointment for my hoarse voice at 2.20 today!

So I am getting a full service!! Let's hope they change my oil and remember to test my brakes!

That is good news kitty, a few kind words over the phone can help allay fears.
Two weeks ago I went for, what I thought was a routine, visit with surgeon and he gave me the results of a scan I had three months before. The one time that I went into the appointment on my own and was told I would need another operation. DH is usually my second pair of ears in case I don't take it all in. Thankfully my doctor, like yours, is kind and eager to explain and did not make me too anxious.

I’m very glad you have been given a clean bill of health, kitty. My DH had a CT scan three weeks ago. Docs appointment and fast track scan all within a week! Then no results. He rang the doctor on Tuesday and they hadn’t heard so he rang the hospital, to be told there was a question mark over his results, which rattled him somewhat. Yesterday while we were out, he got a phone call from the doctor to say she had had a letter to say there was nothing for him to worry about . Obviously relieved but I hope that the left hand knows what the right hand is doing.

Logically, there was nothing much to worry about or, according to the receptionist, I would have had a phone call. Nevertheless.....

The delay was mostly down to me not the lovely gp as I have been so busy.

Phew!! indeed my friend. So glad that worry has been taken care of, but a rather more immediate response would have been even more welcome I'm sure.

I'm reminded of a worrying time I had about 8 years ago. My late husband was in HDU in hospital at the time, very ill, and I'd had a mammogram just before he was admitted. Got the dreaded recall letter a week later, and travelled to the Breast clinic by taxi (it was quite a distance, and I was too worked up to drive myself). Had all the usual tests done including a core biopsy which wasn't the most pleasant of procedures. While it was being done, I confided in the lovely lady doctor about my husband, and my concerns about getting a positive diagnosis. I went straight to the hospital to visit him afterwards by bus, which was about an hour's travel. Supposed to go back a week later for the results.
Well, the following week I got a phone call from the lovely doctor to tell me the results were negative - it was a fibroadenoma (quite common), and she'd rung me as soon as she knew the results to put my mind at rest, with the turmoil I was already in. I was SO grateful for that phone call.

Doctors and others - even we ourselves in everyday life - often don't realise what a huge effect a few words can have on someone's life.

Waiting for medical test results must be one of the worst though, especially when things get lost and the person involved doesn't get the results or even gets the wrong results and are consumed with worry for weeks on end.

Such good news, what a relief for you!

DH has known that I've been waiting but I haven't told the children as I didn't want to worry them as I know one in particular worries about one of us dying!!

My 'best' friend has enough health worries of her own.

And DH is at the hairdressers!

So, GN was the only place to be relieved.
