What's your vice?

Was talking to DH earlier about vices - that one thing we really know we shouldn't do/eat/drink but still do anyway - and it got me thinking about what mine is.

I eat healthy, have never smoked, try to have gentle daily exercise but I can't resist diet coke. I must drink about two cans a day! Oh, and a nice glass of chilled white wine at the weekends.

What are your vices?

This is my first time starting a discussion so I do hope I've posted this in the right place! smile

Chocolate! None of that life prolonging, posh 70% pure cocoa solids fare, it has to be the bad ass, unhealthy bog standard Cadburys. I don't have it the house, it's a very occasional vice. I had my grandchildren's Easter eggs lying around for a little while until we saw them after Easter and I congratulate my self control because they remained in tact, which was not always the case with my own children's eggs, I'd break little bits off when they weren't looking. Bad mother! Other than that red wine, French and Italian cheeses with lovely crusty bread, with bits of olives and sun dried tomatoes, a nod to healthy eating grin

Tisliz - it’s grapes, so yes of course!

Proper Turkish Delight, a lot easier now I'm back in the UK, but since my cancer operation I can't resist sweet chilli crisps, never ate crisps before!

My glass of wine at "wine o'clock" every evening. Oooh Lardy cake - haven't had that for years and I intend to rectify that very shortly!!

Chocolate, cake and buying necklaces.

Buying fabric - I simply cannot walk past a fabric shop and I have more fabric than I know what to do with blush. That is aside from all the leftover scraps that I tell myself I will use up in patchwork, dolls clothes and so on. My name is Bathsheba and I’m a fabricaholic.

I'm a cake-oholic, only recently come out of the closet. Am finding cutting down on sweet things esp in the evenings really hard going. Am helped by thinking of two folks I know, one giving up smoking the other alcohol, so I sympathise with their efforts.

Don't drink. Not interested in crisps, sweets or biscuits much. But I do love a cup of tea and a cigarette after my evening meal. I am a pariah in some circles blush

I used to eat nutella straight from the jar but I find it too sweet now. I can't stop at one glass of wine. I bite my nails. Not sure if these are vices really or just bad habits . What is it with diet coke? My DiL is addicted to it. I think it tastes horribly artificial.

Food and alcohol.
That's all, I think.

Extra mature cheddar cheese, marmite crisps and anything flavoured with marmite and paprika crisps. Lardy cake!

I would have said wine and strong liquor, but now that people are describing chocolate, cheese, ice cream, peanut butter, fish and chips, crisps, popcorn, cereal, bread, butter, talking, reading and nuts (talking, reading and nuts?! confused) as vices, I realise I'm a bigger sinner than I thought.

I don't drink Coke though, unless there's a rum or a whisky in it.

Chilled rose wine or pro secco
Diet Fanta very cold

A nice chilled white wine or a Magnum - currently the almond one and it has to be Magnum - no other variety is as nice.

I don't have any vices wink

DanniRae Thu 19-Apr-18 16:33:24

I love sweet and salty pop corn - I open a large bag and diligently empty half into a bowl. Seal up the rest for another day. Go into the living room - eat my bowl of popcorn - and then think "Oh, s*d it I'm going to eat the rest of the bag!" blush

nanaK54 Thu 19-Apr-18 16:32:12

Cheese and Flapjacks (not together grin)

Tizliz Thu 19-Apr-18 16:25:16

Is wine a vice? Surely it is one of your ‘five a day’

GrandmaMoira Thu 19-Apr-18 16:23:08

A glass of wine. I don't like chocolate, sweets or crisps.
