Too old for songs now ☹️, but ‘you are my sunshine’; ‘puff the magic dragon’; ‘the runaway train’; ‘I’m a blue toothbrush, you’re a pink toothbrush’; lots of other Uncle Mac favourites. Bedtime was quite often ‘The water is wide’; ‘Blow the wind Southerly’, and ‘The Skye Boat Song’.

'She'll be coming round the mountain' with lots of totally superfluous 'whoo, whoos' and ridiculous outfits included.

They still like that in the car even though at home they are much more with it at home!

I don't sing to my granddaughters now as they are older. When they were little sang lots of old songs and taught them lots of children's action songs but one of the girls for ages had to be sung Teddy Bears Picnic and Little Donkey ( whatever the time of year) before she would go to sleep

I sing all the songs my Mother sang to my children (plus some newer ones). Favourite is "Hello, hello who's your lady friend" which always gets a giggle from ggs. Others include Daisy Daisy,You are my sunshine,I'm forever blowing bubbles,..the list goes on and on. I just love singing to a baby and seeing them smile in recognition of the tune

My GD 1 used to love "There was an old man called Michael Finnegan", when she was very little. I had to sing it again and again
"Dream" by the Everly brothers sent both GDs to sleep. GD2 has a lovely voice and sings to herself all the time. They are getting a bit old to sing to now though.

I have always sung to my DGC since they were born, from nursery rhymes to popular fun songs (like A Mouse Lived in a Windmill, Chewbacca, Gilly Gilly Ossen Pepper...., Tulips from Amsterdam, The Ugly Duckling and many many more), which I remember from Children's' Favourites. Since joining a choir my youngest DGD has helped me practise (and I need a lot!!) . Her favourites are 'I Believe I Can Fly' and 'Fernando'. She and her sister are delighted that we have just learned, 'Hushabye Mountain' and 'Beauty and the Beast'.

Anniebch was talking about singing Myfanwy. I like to sing Rutters "may the Lord bless you and keep you" and "Summertime". "Golden Slumbers kiss your eyes" is another favourite too
