Annoying adverts

Love the meerkats most hated Confused.com the ads are bad e nough but the doubke whammy of James Corden makes me scream.
Thank goodness for the ff button on the remote means dont have to endure too many ads

I agree with all of the above except the sofology one with Owen Wilson wondering about Shakespeare ‘snuggling up on ye olde sofa and waxing that little pointy beard’. That one always makes me smile. Also like the Specsavers ‘What kind of cheese was that?’

Loathe both the Purple Bricks ads, the pottery one is bad enough but the wedding dad who starts ranting is much worse. Their ads alone would put me off using this firm. Love the big white dog on the Flash advert though.

I hate the ads for pads of any description. We know they can be a necessity to some but it really isn't family viewing.

I have never forgotten the Kenko ads with Cherie Lunghi and Robert Daws, in the 90s I think. They were brilliantly done and we actually watched them. On the whole I think ads now are pretty lazy and certainly not witty or clever. The only memorable one is the "what kind of cheese was that?"

I don't like the "artistic" ads where you have no idea what is being advertised until the last few seconds!

Another purple bricks hater here! The man shouting at the wedding makes me shout right back, my hackles really rise tp that advert l8ke for nothing else on earth ?

The one for quorn mince where the poor bloke has been doing overtime and has to make dinner when he comes home to placate his wife. Surely doing overtime means he should be looked after.

The girl singing - is it Tui? She has the most bland, most expressionless voice ever.
I also hate the spate of recent ads featuring “real people” “singing” very badly. Why would anyone want their ears to be assaulted as an incentive to buy a product?
I detest the HUGE number of gambling adverts for bingo, football betting, race betting, casino gambling, bet on anything you can come up with gambling - they should all be banned.
The charity adverts are horrendous- the sad, dirge like music, the emotive pictures, the emotional language, the pleading.
Most of the rest are very poor - unimaginative or totally over the top. Very few witty, professional ads these days.

I love the Flash advert because we have a dog that looks just like that. I think he is moonlighting. Meerkats and the Skeletor Dirty Dancing always make smile, but I hate any advert with children in. I think I just dislike the idea of children telling me what to buy. I hate Owen Wilson and Purple Bricks too.

I love the comments about the guy with the parsnips, I shall watch them carefully now.

Most of them are rubbish. I'm with Camelotclub over the shouted cilletbang ( advert (I've never bought the stuff on principle), and the silly haribo nonsense. However I do like the action men adverts, though I have no idea what they are advertising!

I think my favourite advert was the one for 'living in peace with your pipe', years ago where the chap in the advert had a radio controlled model submarine, which he used to torpedo the model speed boats which were disturbing the peace on the model boating lake. Well deserved, I thought!

The Tombola advert that seems to suggest players are living it up socialising with friends when in fact they are hunched over their phones all alone at home.

Can’t stand the TUI advert. They seem to have missed the idea that lots of us go on holiday with children. Also the creepy child on the AA ad - scary

So many that irritate me have already been mentioned. What staggers me is why so many famous people feel its necessary to make adverts in the first place! I could forgive them if the £££ they earn is donated to charity, because I can’t think they need the money!

It’s impossible to avoid the adverts totally, so I just mute them. Easy.

I hate the advert where a woman is leaning over a man sitting in a chair 'interrogating ' him about what sort of locks he has and he doesn't know- I think it's for Aviva. I don't really think it's very appropriate in view of the fact most people are against torture and that is what it is implying, in my mind anyway. In general, most ads wash over me and those which especially annoy me -I mark down as never to use that company's products but the ones which seem to be on constantly are hard to ignore.

I don't watch them, we make a point of only watching the BBC live, so the ads can be easily skipped. It doesn't sound as though I'm missing much!

I must admit to sneaking a look at the Christmas adverts though - amongst the dross there's usually one tearjerker that appeals (sorry, gummibears).

The sad thing is that the advertisers believe that so long as we remember the ad (be it for all the wrong reasons) then they have been successful. They quite like us getting annoyed and talking about them on Gransnet!

I can't actually think of anything I buy, or bought, just because I saw an ad for it. I do wonder if they are all worth the money spent on them.

G tech ad my dog hates it and barks his brains out, and funeral cover ads, why are there so many these days, did people not have funerals before? It's depressing,

Tui - Oh oh oh oh Ain't nobody loves me better.... etc etc. Something about it is so annoying. I hate it so much and would never now book a Tui holiday.

The worst and most cringe making for me is the one where smart alec kids are saying some loo paper is "As clean as a .... "
I genuinely detest that advert...

They all annoy me! I have the tv on mute when they come on, usually when you are settling down enjoying a programme.

The postcode lottery really grates on me, and them singing 'someones knocking on the door'....awful.....

I don't like the ones when they are sponsoring a program eg the meerkats before coronation street . The funeral plan ones what make out you will only have to pay a small amount a month and that will cover all funeral costs and there will be some left for the family .
