There's nothing like it is there? My 6 yr old gd has spent most of half term with me and she loves the attention I give her. Oh but I'm so fed up with playing Happy Families ?
Love the nana cuddles though.

I get a lot of "I love you"s. from dgs aged 5, and yes it makes it all worthwhile. Not too sure though when he says "I want to come and live with you forever" or "you're my favourite nanny" - luckily not in front of the other nanny so far (please god). He only says it because I say "you're my favourite boy". (Only having one grandson). But grandchildren are indeed a joy - when my DS and ddil first announced her pregnancy I shed tears! blush

When my little Granddaughter nearly three ,saw me today, she jumped up and down , threw herself into my arms and declared I love you grandma, and I've missed you.It was only Thursday when I saw her, but It was very much needed today as I've had some bad news regarding a friend.Cheered me up no end.

It puts everything into perspective, doesn't it? The unconditional love of a child is priceless and a balm to the soul in today's mad world.

My very precious dgd once said to me I love you Nan you’re bonkers! haha very true, I also have a message on my answerphone that I will never delete although years old, saying nanny where are you? I need you now!

It was my birthday about a month ago and my DD sent me a little video of my 2 year old GD singing happy birthday to me. Can't stop playing it. Makes me smile every time.

I was building Lego models yesterday with dgs aged 4 when out of the blue a little voice said “I love you Nanny.”

One full and happy heart, what more could I ask for.
