P.S Any one considering Calor cooking, think twice, we have spent
(along with hundreds of others) the past month rationing our gas and only able to have central heating etc going for short time each day, due to supply and delivery problems.
All this in what has been the coldest few months I can remember here.

I had an electric Belling with 2 large fan ovens for 37 years which I loved, used it to cook and bake virtually every day. Then the thermostat went on both and we tried high and low to get them replaced. Had to give up and bought an AEG with halogen hobs and 2 ovens. Totally electronic controls - it took me a couple of weeks with the instruction booklet kept by its side, but now it’s a doddle and the ovens heat up in about 3 minutes.

Having moved a couple of years ago I have got used to the nameless electric oven and gas hob in my flat, but think wistfully about the Neff I left behind. If I had to buy again I'd get a Neff electric oven and gas hob. Reliable and good even cooking. My daughter has one too, chosen because she liked mine.

Moved and left behind my wonderful almost new self cleaning steam oven and induction hob that took even my big jam pan. New house had ancient filthy Rangemaster with electric hobs that only take average size pans but also plate warmer and hotplate thing , took four boxes of oven cleaner to clean it and approx a week.It fits the space and I'm loath to replace it in case we move in the not too distant future.

We don't have gas in this area, and considered calor gas, but then went for an induction hob, and I must say, we have found it surprisingly easy to get used to. It can be regulated just as easily as gas.

We have combined it with an electric oven (from Ikea) built in at approximately my waist level. (I am 5 ' 3). Find it a great relief not having to crouch on the floor getting a heavy roasting tin out of the oven, or bend double to check baking.

I have an Aga, which I love. The house we are thinking of moving to also has an Aga - same colour! It made me feel at hone straightaway.

I had a wonderful Stoves cooker for more than 20 years and, when it died, I bought the equivalent new model but with an induction hob, thinking it would be just as good. Sadly I was wrong...just buying it was a nightmare in itself. There is a nasty little design fault in front of the job which catches crumbs & I have to clean it with a cocktail stick. The fan oven runs too cool so old familiar recipes have to have a higher heat. I'm used to it now and I do love the induction hob but I had Le Creuset saucepans so no need to buy new. I will certainly shop around much more when it need a replacing.

Always preferred gas cooking but I moved to a village with no gas, so electric it had to be. I bought a small cooker with a fan oven and an induction hob. It worked fine for a few years then I couldn't use them both together as the hob wouldn't work when the oven was on, it seemed to interfere with the controls. After a number of visits by the engineer (I had for some reason taken out an insurance policy on it, not something I usually do) they said it couldn't be repaired and offered me a new one, as they no longer made the same model they upgraded me to a double oven, induction hob model. I must say I am impressed with induction hobs, just as fast and controllable as any gas cooker I have ever had but so much easier to clean.

I replaced my 35yr old Tricity double oven 10 years ago. And have just replaced the Tricity's replacement.
Replacement number 1 was Meile single oven with various gizmos included, which, to be honest, I never used. 2 years in it needed a new element then roughly every 18 months or so, something else needed doing. The final problem was a failed oxygen sensor for the pyrolytic function. A replacement part plus fitting would have cost about £1000!
We decided to buy a basic Neff built in single oven for £400. We've had it a year and so far so good, apart from the cover for the light exploding during cooking a couple of months ago.
Still using the ceramic hob that we bought with the Miele oven. It's OK so far.

My hobby is cooking and I always do loads of research before expensive purchases. So after weeks of reading and inspecting ranges I decided on a Lacanche. It is outstanding and I hope will never be replaced. My only gripe is Lacanche have not bothered to produce a proper handbook, if I ever have the time I may publish my own!!

Bosch double oven , very easy to work and good results , Bosch gas hob , 5 rings , very handy tiny one , great for simmering , middle one great for the Wok ....... I like it all

We have just bought an induction hob by Stoves.
I've had 2 of their gas cookers /ovens and swear by their longevity and after sales service. The induction hob is as responsive as gas but oh so easy to clean!
The only drawback is possibly having to replace incompatible saucepans.I also have a Stoves double gas oven housed in a tower with our microwave oven.

I have two Neff ovens,with slide away doors, side by side at eye level in a wall of units. I have a separate ceramic hob. Love my ovens as there are no knobs, all touch control.

I have a gas hob which I like and a Bosch electric oven which is ideal. It has a fast heat-up setting which I can then set to fan when it has reached the right heat. I can use the timer, but the clock has defeated me. DS set it for me, but I find it impossible to re-set when the clocks change. Life's too short!

The only thing I miss is an eye level grill.

For 20 years I had a lovely all-gas range cooker, but eventually parts became hard to source and repairs became expensive, so I bought a new one.

I couldn't find an all-gas cooker the right size and with all the features I wanted so I bought a dual fuel cooker. I have tried for three years now and I really do not like it. One of the oven doors bounces open, but not enough to easily notice (magnetic catch) and every time I open the oven door, a blast of air from the fan assisted oven threatens to remove my eyebrows and scorch my face. The grill is in a fixed position and cannot be changed.

We are planning a kitchen extension and new kitchen, I am trying to convince myself that I can justify replacing my cooker when this happens.

Like you kittylester, we have a Rangemaster. Five gas burners, gas grill, large gas oven and smaller electric fan oven. We had one at our previous house and I liked it so much that we got a new one when we moved. It's 10 years old now and the thermostat has gone on the big oven (which we rarely use for just the two of us, but great for when family come). I'm hoping we can get it fixed!

I changed from all gas to induction hob and double electric oven about ten years ago. Wouldn't go back to gas again. The hob is wonderful. But, electric appliances don't last like gas ones do so that's the downside.

I love my 10 month cooker. Its a Neff. The best thing about it is that it cleans itself. Yes it was expensive, but worth every penny. I have MS and this function I find so usefull.

A double oven Smeg for me. It’s stainless steel, slot in and one day will be replaced with another. It owes me nothing at all after over 12 years.

We have an Aga. We love it! It runs on gas and is on all the time though we tend to turn it off from May to August otherwise the kitchen gets too warm. We also have a fitted electric fan oven and gas hob which we use in Summer.

Ours is a double oven Smeg, about 5 years old. We have LPG gas for cooking and it is amazingly economical.Love having two ovens plus fan and turbo.

I am on my second Neff double fan oven cooker, and I am as happy with it as I was with the first one which was still going strong in our last house. It doesn't have a slide under door, which would be useful, but it's easy to clean and gives good results.

I replaced a 10 year old Rangemaster dual fuel double oven with 5 gas rings when we changed the kitchen last year - there was nothing wrong with it and the man who bought it for his mother said she was thrilled with it. I've now got the Neff single oven with slide in door with an AEG induction hob. It's fine for the amount of cooking I do - there are only two of us. I sometimes miss the bigger one but rarely used the small side oven and this one is much easier to clean.

I'm with you gmelon gas cooker with eye level grill!
