How successful was yesterday? Within an hour, I bought my outfit for daughter’s wedding, rented the hat and borrowed the handbag! All I need now are shoes. It is tricky finding appropriate plus size and I was beginning to panic.

Gq, I'm glad that your DD is feeling a little more upbeat and that family are helping. DD1 has been a rock for DD3 during a period of hassle from the Idiot. They are 12 years apart in age and not naturally close but I think the Idiot might have been a force for good in this instance - which is confusing in itself!! 
We are having our first experience of SATS with 11 year old DGS. Not sure he's noticed yet! Luckily he is fairly bright but it is a worry for the grownups if not for him.

We've been on our beach. Not really ours...it just so happens to be opposite our home. Wonderfully peaceful and colourful too. A few pics taken to share with you lovely lot. I'm determined to sit in the garden again today. All the hard work now paying dividends. It's time to loll and enjoy...
Soop I am envious of your beach, and I love the white sand. Last time we were in Scotland we stopped at Morar and had a picnic on a beach. It was positively tropical - sand pale as sugar and warm crystal clear water. There were only a handful of people there. We didn’t want to go home!
Well, our walk was lovely and the farmers market heaving, but we bought some hand made pies, some very good farm to fork sausages, some bread and a jar of hot courgette pickle which is absolutely delicious. There were Morris dancers as well, and a couple of Asian ladies (Thai, I think) standing next to us were asking me why only the men were dancing (I think they were quite bemused by a very large man with a bushy beard wearing a hat covered in flowers and bells on his legs!!); why weren’t there any ladies, so I tried to explain about the Morris tradition, the different types of dancing and fortunately had some photos on my phone that I took at a Morris festival in our city last year, where they did have ladies dancing. They seemed to be quite fascinated.
Here are a couple of pictures from our perambulations. The camera on my phone didn’t do justice to the bank of bluebells and white stitchwort. The man in the hat is not a Morris dancer, but DH who needs to hitch his shorts up!
Greyduster I enjoyed looking at your photographs. The bluebells have put on a good show this year. They even grow on our beach! I do envy you the trip to the farmers market. Something that I really like is mooching around the various stalls and buying as much scrummy food as I'm allowed. We do not have such a thing in Kintyre. The last one we attended was in the Cotswolds. No, I forgot that we did attend one such market on the Isle of Arran. MacSporran was in his element because there was a marquee where one could "taste malt whisky". We were motored there and back. A wise decision. 
It has been a beautiful day. We may take our canvas chairs on to the beach a little later. I fancy having a glass of wine as we enjoy the view.
I'm hoping that Nana rejoins us again very soon. I'm continuing to think of ann and trust that Bellasnana will be well enough to join us. She will be home from hospital.

Yes this SATS business is a worry for some, 2 of ours are doing them this year -one is anxious the other is not. I do wonder how necessary it all is, the transition to high school is more than enough to be thinking about.

Love the photos, a celebration of our beautiful country and a celebration of people and also of hats. You look great, jane. Funny, I’m another who always said and believed I looked ridiculous in any sort of hat. Then I needed one for our son’s wedding, a very hatty affair. The kind and helpful owner of a small hat rental business showed me otherwise. There’s a hat out there for us all .

It’s been a beautiful day here, bright sunshine all day which has encouraged the beginning of a garden tidy up. Just need to finish now. Won’t be time this week or next, oh well, the weeds won’t mind.
