Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company

Welcome to all our friends...

OK, so I went up and I came down - nothing hurt or broken although Mr C was there with the phone ready to call an ambulance. grin.

Most damage was done to my pride, although there's a spectacular bruise on one shoulder, good job its still cold so it doesn't scare anyone. I do know what you mean though greyd, I don't bounce these days as I did. Seem to have survived this one with only bruises and a grandchild who wants to tell the world about my lack of grace when falling. hmm

All quiet here now. Time for lunch and then off out for a bit.

So, if you could all put away those BBQ's and forget garden furniture we may get some warmth back in a week or three. It is horrid, isn't it? Our poor plants are oh so confused and yes, our heating is on.

Onwards, lunch time and then I will kindly allow Mr C to drive this afternoon, just in case grin

Charleygirl Sat 28-Apr-18 14:40:15

corner from what you have said you are not going anywhere anytime soon so you can stay at home to lick your wounds. It is a good job you have emerged with "only" bruises and did not break a bone.

I would allow Mr.C to drive and you can give instructions.

A BBQ, you bought a BBQ when the weather is so inclement? Really what were you thinking?

I have had the heating on for a while, I have not warmed up so I intend to have a shower, wash my hair and return to my night attire- I am perishingly cold and hope I am not catching some bug from one of -you lot-.

I do hope that soop is enjoying meeting up with the family. Sorry I am in no state to check if her friends are looking after their house. If they trip over the hoover often enough they may get the message.

Evening all !!

OUCH! Corner , that wasn't your best move. Hope you're not suffering too badly from the after effects .

Its raining cats and dogs here too, Sam cannot be persuaded out for love nor money so we all took a lengthy afternoon nap !! I can highly recommend it.

Its leftovers for dinner so nothing exciting going on here, but if you had only said Grey I would have joined you for chicken curry!!

Ill share two lovely pictures that DID make me smile today. The first is young Cooper playing with baby Findley ( his Mum and my youngest daughter have been friends since school). Both boys look like they had fun.

And secondly, my daughter , after 12 driving tests- received her first ever driving licence this morning.... you can see how delighted she is !!

So I'll leave you all with a smile, a wish for better weather tomorrow. x

callgirl1 Sat 28-Apr-18 17:39:54

Congrats to your daughter N&G, she really does look delighted.
Corner, I hope you get to use your BBQ soon, just to give us some decent weather.
Last night Dawn took me for an early birthday treat, I had no idea where we were going, turned out to be the Embassy Centre in Skegness, to see Aljas and Janette from Strictly. It was a brilliant show, she wore some beautiful dresses, it was a tribute to Fred Astaire. Didn`t have time for tea before I went out, my stomach thought my throat had been cut, so when I got home I made a sandwich............or 3.
I`ve had a very lazy, slothful day today, woke up very late and have done NOTHING! Isn`t it shameful?

Charleygirl Sat 28-Apr-18 17:46:01

I agree, Cooper and Findley are having a great time.

Once your daughter is used to driving on her own without somebody beside her giving instructions she will feel confident to drive Findley locally to begin with- she will soon forget the first time nerves. She persevered and got her goal.

I learned to drive in London so anything over 40 miles scares me because I no longer drive on motorways and A roads here are usually stop/start. She did very well persevering.

kittylester Sun 29-Apr-18 17:28:05

Crumbs, it's a bit deserted in here!

I just popped in to apologise to soop and MacS for the appalling Leicestershire weather, lack of sun and regular rain.

Glad you had a good time Callgirl and a restful day today.

Off to pot roast a chicken with lots if vegetables - a nice warming meal!

Charleygirl Sun 29-Apr-18 17:56:07

It is absolutely freezing in London with a nasty wind. Hypothermia is not far away. Once I came home from shopping the heating was switched on. I heard a noise in my garden an hour ago and it was one of the garden chairs going for a walk so the wind has risen. Did somebody say that this is spring?

Yesterday one of my friends in Scotland was having a coffee in her garden- I was switching on the heating and looking for a warmer cardigan.

I do hope that soop and MacS are enjoying themselves and being with the family.

I must put out the wheelie bins and cook half a steak with trimmings for my supper.

MawBroon Sun 29-Apr-18 18:48:31

Like you Charleygirl I am perished.
I know moaning about the weather is what we all do but this is beyond a joke.
Woolly jumper, heating on and feeling thoroughly fed up.
Time for a G&T smile

Doodle Sun 29-Apr-18 19:56:33

Crumbs indeed kitty, there is no cake in the kitchen, I've searched everywhere ? . Where is the lemon drizzle (Lona hint) , flapjacks (baggs hint) the odd dry biscuit. Nothing sad

Oh well, good for the diet I suppose.

corner please be careful. Hope your bruises are not too painful.

No summer here today either. I'm making hot chocolate I'll leave some in the pan for anyone who might pop in out of the cold ?

cornergran Sun 29-Apr-18 23:42:50

Evening all. Another day with the gentle hum of the central heating. Oh well, being positive, at least we have it and can keep warm. It is odd weather, I’m almost as confused as the plants.

Ventured out, frustrating as the item I went for doesn’t seem to exist. Oh yes it does. hmm. Stopped for coffee, my order was filled incorrectly and the person in front of me had the piece of gf cake I was coveting.

Other than that not a bad day. smile.

I don’t imagine soop and macs will have been bothered by the weather, plenty of family warmth for them. Wishing them a good journey home.

Oh well, should be asleep. I seem to have turned into something of a night owl, used to be a lark. That’s maturity for you. smile.

JaneD3 Mon 30-Apr-18 08:38:06

Hello everyone! Well I survived the modest hen night for mothers and left after lunch, so that the younger hens could party on Saturday! Went to see a little baby on the way home and proved I still have the knack of getting babies to settle. NCT have now announced that breastfed babies don’t need winding - his Grandma and I disproved that!

Charleygirl Mon 30-Apr-18 08:48:27

I think that I may emigrate to warmer climes. It is really cold, windy and wet here with a local flood warning. Please do not be jealous.

Tara went out and ran in again so fast- she also does not like this dreadful weather. I am going out late morning but when I return it will be lights and heating on and back to the de- cluttering. Is this weather ever going to improve?

JaneD3 Mon 30-Apr-18 12:59:55

Our forecast was for heavy rain today but so far it is cloudy with glimpses of sunshine. Commiserations to whoever has our weather!

Charleygirl Mon 30-Apr-18 13:00:21

I am now at home for the remainder of the day- the heating is on but I can hear the winds howling outside. I believe that tomorrow is the 1st May but there again there is the saying "ne'r cast a cloot til May is oot." Do not cast away any clothes until May has ended.

soop Mon 30-Apr-18 18:10:59

Just to say - We're home and the sun is shining. I shall return to read and hopefully respond to all the latest happenings when I return from the care home visit in the morning. I've missed you. Have lots of photos to share with you. Big warm hugs to you all. smile moon

Charleygirl Mon 30-Apr-18 18:46:55

That appears to have been a very quick trip- hardly worth it asking your friends to stay but better to be safe than sorry. I hope that the weather is better in your neck of the woods- it is perishing here.

Izabella Mon 30-Apr-18 19:40:17

Well we have a beautiful evening with sunshine and no breeze at all. So where did the snow go that we wee forecast?

callgirl1 Mon 30-Apr-18 21:52:45

Good to see you back safe and sound Soop. Can`t wait for all your news and photos.

JaneD3 Mon 30-Apr-18 21:56:48

Rhubarb Eton Mess anyone?

Lona Mon 30-Apr-18 22:53:40

Well, I'm sorry you've all been chilled to the bone but it's been a lovely sunny day here, she said smugly!
Thankfully,so far we seem to have missed all the heavy rain and horrible floods that have been down yonder!
Yesterday, my dgd went to a birthday party at one of these "wild forest" areas which seem to be the latest craze round here. Thank goodness it didn't rain or it could have been a quagmire! She had a great time and only fell over once!

Soop has had a wonderful time cuddling every baby she could find, and hasn't injured any part of her body, so that trip was a success! grin

Lemon drizzle cake is on the table ( I can take a hint Doodle )
Hope ann60 is ok.

Doodle Mon 30-Apr-18 22:58:49

lona, you always were my favourite grin I love lemon drizzle.

Mind you I like rhubarb Elton mess too Jane. Decisions, desicions hmm. Think I'd better have both ?

Glad you're home safely soop. Looking forward to the photos.

cornergran Mon 30-Apr-18 23:01:23

Welcome home soop.

I’ve added a fresh cream gluten free Swiss roll to the lemon drizzle. We can have a party tomorrow. smile.

Galen Mon 30-Apr-18 23:37:34

Lemon drizzle? ?????

kittylester Tue 01-May-18 06:57:29

Welcome home soop!

I'll have a slice of gf Swiss roll please. corner!

I was going to going to contribute a gf carrot cake but it was still very fluid in the middle so it went straight in the bin. I'm a bit baffled as my skewer came out clean in several places confusedblush

Lona Tue 01-May-18 07:02:40

kitty My lemon drizzle is always gf, I just forget to mention it! So, dig in ?
