I couldn’t get mine off now if I wanted to; it won’t go over my knuckle. It is a plain, 5mm wide twenty two carat band which almost broke the bank when DH bought it, but I had foregone the engagement ring, so hey! I have never had any inclination to take it off, but nearly lost it on a fortunately almost deserted beach in Northern Ireland, when it actually would come off easily. We were shaking a picnic blanket and I let go of my corner and saw my ring fly off and roughly where it landed. So DH made the children stand absolutely still, divided the area of sand up into squares and we sifted carefully through each square - and found it! I remember him making some remark to the effect “B****y good job! I couldn’t afford to replace it now!!”
