Vagina closing up. Advice needed.

One of my friends had this problem a few years ago , I'm sure she said it was something " lichens " she also had same problem in her mouth (that did not close up though ) she was given some pessaries and some cone shaped things to insert into her vagina and some drops for her mouth. She has flare ups occasionally still.
She eats a diet very very high in sugar and carbs and sugary drinks and I'm certain this is her problem.

Do you have Lichen Planus? Here is a helpful site and there are others

Monica: thanks for your reply and I’ll have a look at these sites but lichen planus wasn’t mentioned at the gp. They didnt say what it was called. The vagina is closing up with tight solid sort of firm bands inside. Anyway thanks again and I’ll have a look at the links you gave me.

All I can say, it sounds very worrying.
I think there was another thread about something similar a few years ago.

Thanks, Fennel. Saw the gynaecologist today, been given additional hormone cream to use as well as Vagifem and Replens, see him in 3 months.
Thanks for your good wishes. Yes, I was very worried and anxious over the weekend. Relieved no op for the moment anyway.
How do I find the posts you mentioned from a few years ago? I’m afraid I don’t find GN an easy site to navigate. I’d already typed in variations of “vaginal problems” before I started this topic myself but nothing came up. Any advice on how to find them would be appreciated. Many thanks.
