After Ant’s arrest for drink driving will he come back? Do we care? They’ve built a lucrative career out of being wholesome Geordie cheeky chappies. Will it now just be Dec.? Or will he be teamed up with someone like Holly Willoughby? (Apologies to those that will now moan about the shallow nature of celebrity gossip I’m awake early and was just thinking about it)

No one ever said differently ab except the posters saying WR,GM etc had been forgiven

DanniRae Sun 25-Mar-18 15:33:11

Yes JaneI was delighted to hear that Dec is to be a dad and I agree with you that Ant will have mixed feelings about the news.

Anniebach Sun 25-Mar-18 15:29:26

The only person who can forgive is the person who was hurt or wronged surely, it isn't for me to forgive Jo Bloggs if he has hurt you, the choice would be yours alone.

I did put ‘forgiven’ in quote marks. As for having the ‘right to forgive’ I thought people did have that - do they not? If they have suffered because of someone else’s actions? Please don’t tell me only god can forgive

Nice news about Dec's baby. This must have been a difficult stressful time for him too.
Rubbing it in a bit for Ant though.

Anniebach Sun 25-Mar-18 11:07:28

And no one has said it isn't a bad thing or it isn't ilegal, or we should do it.

Iam64 Sun 25-Mar-18 10:11:49

That's the question maryeliza54, what ever is the point of suggesting that those who criticise Ant's behaviour wouldn't criticise Wayne Rooney or George Michael?

Drink driving is a Bad Thing. It's an illegal thing. That's why we shouldn't do it.

Anniebach Sun 25-Mar-18 10:06:26

Just realised Maryeliza, you were not on this forum when tributes were paid to .George Michael.

Anniebach Sun 25-Mar-18 09:43:01

What right do we have - to forgive ? Sorry but that is so,pompous

maryeliza54 Sun 25-Mar-18 09:15:49

What is it with bringing in other famous drunk drivers - that would be relevant if those of us who are criticising AM had ‘forgiven’ the others. Have we? No so I really despair at the quality of that type of ridiculous argument - I really don’t know what point you are trying to make - that what AM has done is fine because others have?

gillybob Sun 25-Mar-18 09:09:30

I haven’t forgotten Wayne Rooney at all DanniRae another footballer (Darren Gibson) charged with drunk driving just last week.

DanniRae Sun 25-Mar-18 08:23:45

Don't forget Wayne Rooney - three times over the limit and with a women who wasn't his wife in the car - now all is forgiven! But, of course, he is a footballer so in football fans eyes he can do no wrong!

maryeliza54 Sat 24-Mar-18 23:07:26

I really don’t see what GM has got to do with this discussion - have any of us who are critical of AM’s behaviour defended GM? No thought not.

gillybob Sat 24-Mar-18 22:35:24

Not by me he wasn’t !

I suggest he (Ant) uses his millions to get himself sorted . Maybe give some of his time to charity .

Anniebach Sat 24-Mar-18 22:28:07

Strange how George .Michael was almost given a sainthood , done for lewd act, crashing his car, found at the wheel of his car out of it on drugs , he continued to work

Anniebach Sat 24-Mar-18 22:24:21

True Welshwife, but he does really to work

Welshwife Sat 24-Mar-18 22:13:22

He may well have talents we know nothing about such as writing scripts for other people - many performers have other talents. Paul Anker of Diana fame was only 17 when he made that record and had enough money never to need to work again but he has spent his life writing songs for many other singers.
Maybe Ant will get himself straight and spend time helping others with addiction - we cannot start to imagine what he could do.

Anniebach Sat 24-Mar-18 21:47:32

If he doesn't work then what? Lots of holidays, lazing around the house, twiddling his thumbs ? What do you suggest Gilly?

gillybob Sat 24-Mar-18 21:07:14

He won’t need to work again ! He’s worth £millions

Anniebach Sat 24-Mar-18 21:03:46

Back to his money again, one thing he will need after rehab is work.

Chinesecrested Sat 24-Mar-18 20:19:27

At least they've both made enough money never to have to work again! So we won't see poor Dec at his local food bank - and I'm sure he could carry the show on his own anyway. I remember when Angus Drayton lost his job with Have I got News for You but it carried on with Paul Merton and Ian Hislop unaffected. No one's indispensable!Hopefully, Ant's learnt his lesson.

Iam64 Sat 24-Mar-18 19:42:35

Thanks Anniebach - I've only seen it on line, BBC news thread or Daily Mail on line. It looks fairly gruesome and in one video, Ant gets out of his car looking unsteady on his feet and is then seen arguing with the police officer called to the scene. It's desperately sad but his behaviour isn't ok on any level imo.

Anniebach Sat 24-Mar-18 19:40:39

Thank you Iam, I haven't seen any film of it

Iam64 Sat 24-Mar-18 19:31:54

I think it was filmed and that he came round a corner at speed, lost control of his care and if the driver of the other mini hadn't taken instant action to avoid, a head on collision would have occurred . I don't understand the minimisation of this incident. If you look at the cars involved, the damage clearly indicates speed was a real factor.
If my three year old grandchild had been in the other car, fearful and weeping, I'd have been so very cross even if the driver who caused the collision hadn't been under the influence of alcohol because they were obviously driving too fast for the road conditions.

Anniebach Sat 24-Mar-18 19:26:38

Was he driving on the wrong side of the road ? Was this filmed ?

Why shouldn't anyone not say they are sorry for a friend ?
