Which do you think was the best?

The 40s for me. Then my attempts at jive or rock 'n roll in the '50s.
But there has been a revival of some of the old styles more recently eg :

I love them all! I love watching dancing.

I like them all too, but probably the 70's and 80's the best.

I wasn't so keen on the 60s. A bit too 'freestyle' for me. Strange, because I love 60s music - hippy type stuff.

Mid 30s best, but also quite enjoying being older, especially the retired bit.

What a lot of energy they had. At least in the sixties you didn't have to move around much.

I never dance. Too shy. not even when I'm on my own, and I've got the music I love on.

My era was the 60s but I would have really loved to dance like they did in the 30s. I used to love to jive but DH can't/won't never been sure which. There are classes just down the road from us but I can't get him interested.

I loved the 60s but I lived in London. The music was the best. Everyone was so laid back and friendly. Clubs, dancing, saw all the groups live including the Beatles, all night parties (we didn’t need to drink or take pills), mini skirts, beads, bells and flowers, Biba and Mary Quant. Even my (now) husband had long hair. Everywhere felt safe. I was always on the last train home and walking from the station on my own. There was a mood of hope and optimism.

1960's for me - I love everything about it . Great music , fashion , long hair fir men . I can't abide musicals or shows or anything from the 50's so anything pre 1960 leaves me cold .

It makes me feel tired just watching some of the dancing of the earlier decades. I was most active, as far as dancing is concerned, in the '70s and as far as I can remember we danced in groups, handbags on the floor and we sort of shuffled around and stepped from side to side occasionally. It wasn't at all energetic. If I look at old Top of the Pops programmes it always strikes me that most of the dancers in the audience were shufflers too, with expressionless faces.
