Oh no, does this mean that there'll be a mad dash to buy up all the mushrooms? Next headline, "Mushroom shortage!" It's happened before - even with the humble Epsom Salts!

I'm making minced beef and dumplings for tea since DH had been at work today. I put mushroom ketchup in the mince, do you think that counts?
We eat a lot of mushrooms in our house. I often make risotto with them.

Yuk, I hate mushrooms in any way, shape or form. I dislike the texture as well as the taste and smell. None of this particular super food for me.

There is no such thing as a 'super' food. Just clever marketing campaigns to boost consumption and increase prices.

Well I'm not happy about it. We love mushrooms and now the price will go up!

I was thinking of doing mushrooms in a stilton sauce on toast today. Definitely will today. grin

I read that article but decided that it's still down to eating what you like and being sensible.

DH adores mushrooms and would happily eat them with every meal.

Nice to think he's doing something right for a change grin

Or so an article in yesterday's Times claims - all sorts of benefits, apparently, including 'a positive effect on ageing'.

There is mention of mushroom supplements and a 'mushroom latte' which sounds disgusting.
However I am pleased, since I'm fond of mushrooms on toast, and have just had some.

Ordinary button mushrooms are said to be as good as any, BTW - no need for some super-expensive variety, lovingly hand-nurtured in verdant organic meadows 2000 miles away.
