Has anyone else saved money because of the bad weather?

No doubt all the things that didn't arrive because the vans couldn't get up the farm road will turn up on Monday.

That'll be a new shovel, firebricks for DD's woodburner, more logs (we've been getting through our normal supply at a scary rate) and a blade for his circular saw.

I, on the other hand, have been saving a fortune. grin

Same here. A bored DH has been on intimate terms with Amazon, Screwfix, eBay and our local agricultural merchants. He's even ordered a gadget to drill bigger holes in birdboxes hmm

I hope he realises he's going to have to put all this STUFF to good use next week if the weather improves.

Likewise - Amazon has a lot to answer for!

That said I have now sorted out DD’s and SIL’s birthday presents for next weekend smile

It’s just occurred to me that we haven’t been out for four days, so haven’t spent any money!
I reckon that between us, the Bodach and I can spend £20 a day, between treats and delicacies, petrol, newspapers etc, so I should be £80 up.
I might try to see how long I could survive on the contents of the freezer and the cupboard.
