Have you ever been told that you look like anyone famous?
Would you care to share who it is, or was?

DFiLtold me once I looked like Amy Johnson!
In my forties was likened to Jill Gascoyne (The Gentle Touch).
Last week, having failed to mend the train track twice, said, " What am I like?" to 3yr old DGS. He said, "You're like a gorilla." Serves me right for using that silly expression.

In my 20s Marianne Faithfull, in my 30s Nina from Nina and Frederick and in my 50s Cheryl Baker! Think maybe I'm just nondescript and it depends on the hairstyle!

Was told I looked like Cilla way back in my teens, then she had a nose job!
During middle age was often likened to Patricia Hodge, I’ll take that.
Now I just look like my mother.

Apparently when Mary McAleese was standing for election in Eire many years ago, her poster up on lampposts looked just like me, (according to the two DDs who were in Dublin with me at the time confused )

My OH is often told he looks like Richard Gere, especially since he went grey. Even in Greece our notary said that! Lucky me.

When I was at collage training to be a hairdresser, a professional stylist came to the collage, for models, so he dyed my hair bright Orange ( it looked good, because it was long) then he cut it so short! I couldn't even brush it! (How I cried, after telling him what I thought of him on stage) Going back to collage was a nightmare, we went Ice Skating and a couple of kids took to skating after me, asking " Excuse Miss Toyah ,can I have your autograph please"? That I didn't mind, I like Toyah Wilcox x

Frances De La Tour, which didn't impress me very much at the time sadly but now I think she looks very distinguished. The worst one was Olive from 'On The Buses' by a very good friend who caught me out post op in an old dressing gown.

I had a sketch done of me when I was 18. At that time it was commonplace for aspiring artists to ply their 'trade' in nightclubs to make ends meet. My then partner had his framed and hung in his lavatory and mine was rolled up and lost, over time.
I was wearing an off the shoulder maxi dress and my hair was up in loops as was the fashion.
It bore a striking resemblance to a then member of the wider royal family but nothing much like me.

Many moons ago, I was told I looked like Angie from EastEanders and then Doris from Fame ( the TV series)

Pagzy Thu 01-Mar-18 11:26:34

In my teens when I had long hair Sandie Shaw and in my twenties when hair was shorter Marie Osmond.
Now I have grey hair I probably look more like Teresa May!

Tallulah2 Thu 01-Mar-18 11:25:48

Many years ago someone thought I was a dead ringer for Kiri Te Kanawa - could never see it myself! My mum was often told she looked the Queen - and Wendy Craig! I now look like my mum.

I was once asked by some kids if I was Deirdre Barlow of Corrie. I think it was the big specs!

moobox Thu 01-Mar-18 11:21:58

Miranda (I wasn't thrilled)

adaunas Thu 01-Mar-18 11:11:34

At various times, Anita Manning and Brenda Blethyn. Can’t see either of them myself, but I’m not offended.

Sulis Thu 01-Mar-18 11:10:08

Once taken for Diana Rigg by 2 little boys in Oxford Street!

luzdoh Thu 01-Mar-18 11:02:37

Yup. Diane Keaton. Actually it's true except she's well groomed!

caocao Thu 01-Mar-18 10:59:29

In my late teens and twenties, whenever I wore my hair pulled back from my face I would often be told that I looked like Grace Kelly. Needless to say I was always very flattered and rather chuffed!

valeriej43 Thu 01-Mar-18 10:51:12

I was once mistaken in a supermarket [a very long time ago] for someone in Coronation street, cant even remember her name, but she was small and blonde and usually wore a shiny raincoat type of coat, had a very lancashire accent
A woman came up to me and said,"is it or isnt" i just had to laugh and say it isnt it,mentioning the name of this person
Also was told once i looked like Goldi Hawn

EEjit grin grin
A friend told one of my exes that he looked exactly like Fred West in a family portrait photo.

HannahLoisLuke Thu 01-Mar-18 10:43:42

Ive been told many times over the years, and am still, that I look like Joanna Lumley, and one of my sons friends said I looked like Joni Mitchell
Happy with either if those.
My ex has often been likened to Steven Fry and to the policeman in Allo, Allo.

EEJit Thu 01-Mar-18 10:38:00

You think you have problems, I've been told I look like Harold Shipman, and that came from my own brother.

Craftycat Thu 01-Mar-18 10:37:46

Cher- back in the 60s mind you.
I think it was just the hair & the smoky eye makeup TBH as I have quite a small nose & my boyfriend was much nicer looking than her Sonny.
Wish I'd had her money though!

Musicelf Thu 01-Mar-18 10:36:45

I was mistaken for Jennifer Saunders when in hospital back in the late 80s. Sadly, she's kept her cheekbones, whereas mine have vanished somewhere very distant.

My daughter used to say I looked the image of Sarah Green from Saturday morning TV, but I notice she also has kept her looks. I now look more like Philip Green..........

gillyknits Thu 01-Mar-18 10:24:23

Many, many years ago I was told that I looked like Julie Andrews!

Maryp45 Thu 01-Mar-18 10:20:30

I have now changed from looking like Melanie Griffiths to looking like Dawn French as I was told recently by a teenage girl in a cafe
