Has anybody else noticed the strange smell (not a 'dirty' smell) that charity shop clothes have? I've discovered today - perhaps I'm a bit slow on the uptake - that it's the steaming machine that they 'iron' the clothes with. Is there any way of getting rid of the smell? Even washing seems to leave it behind a bit.
I m not getting any pop ups of FB messages Why?? The charity shop I work in doesn’t smell ( some of the public do though and not just in charity shops) and I ve always bought from charity shops why not I got a fantastic River Island winter coat for £5 and a pair of Elle boots same price I m kitted out
Thank you all for your replies regarding 'smelly garments from charity shops'. Glad it's not just me. Why do people insist on using Febreze - it only masks the original smell, but then its own smell lingers.
As to the pop-up, it's even preventing me from looking at some posts. Please Gransnet, get rid of it.
Only just seen the Facebook pop-up today, cant get rid of the first one to be able to read the thread, whats it all about? and the SHARE at the end of every headline very annoying!
Also GN are now sharing all the topics they send by email on their page. So be very careful when it comes to posting anything personal. Not a positive move by GN.
There’s a Primart in the town near where I live that has that same smell! I have been in other Primarts which don’t smell so in their case it isn’t the clothes themselves.
Can't stand the pop-ups on Gransnet - especially when I am already signed up to it, and also to Facebook. Note to Gransnet Admin - Just stop doing this !!!
BLUESKIES Same as -- and I'm not being forced to like anything on facebook -- not sure how I got in here because there wasn't a CROSS option for facebook like -- BUT REALLY THAT IS A BIT CHEEKY
