Is anyone else irritated by the ubiquitous use of ‘healthy’ to describe food or recipes? Prompted by today’s suggestion of ‘healthy’ sultanas as an addition to fruit scones. Apart from those with medical conditions, who know their own restrictions and requirements, what is ‘unhealthy’ is over-consumption, whether of fruit scones or pomegranate seeds. People know that, and decide for themselves whether to over-consume or not. There’s a smugness about ‘healthy’ recipes and meal plans that annoys me every time,
