Tippy I had this last year after a virus although just in one ear. It wasn't wax either. It was extremely debilitating and made me feel awful. The nurse suggested good old fashioned warm olive oil at bedtime but don't block the ear up - just lay on a towel. It did eventually clear up thankfully so hope yours does too.

My flu type virus has come back with a vengeance and left me with totally blocked ears. I wouldn't normally contact my surgery but not being able to hear for the best part of a week was worrying. I managed to see a nurse practitioner who said that she could see my ear drums so there was no build up of wax and suggested it was my etruscan tubes that were blocked and it could be over another week before they cleared. I've never had anything like this before and the fact that i suffer witb tinnitus isnt helping.

Been there done that and still not quite over it so you have my sympathy. Add in the stress incontinence and a week long audit the whole thing has been pretty miserable. I found cough sweets helped a little so hope you get through the service ok.

It took over 4 weeks for my mam's cough to finally go.

With you there katek, the coughing and the headache plus just feeling so weak. It seems to have spread right across the country.

Frustrated indeed. My dh has been in bed for most of a week, sore, a temperature, blinding headache and cough.
Getting up for an hour or two since yesterday so he's on the mend.

I've just got vague cold symptoms and a cough but I'm trailing myself around the house, no energy to do anything worthwhile.

Good luck Katek, hope you manage to get through the service quietly.

This blasted post flu/virus cough I mean. It’s driving me mad, sudden uncontrollable bouts of non productive coughing at any time of day or night. My friend’s funeral is tomorrow and I’m dreading a coughing fit striking me at the crem. I’ve packed soothing sweets and a small discreet water bottle in my bag but, quite frankly, they probably wouldn’t help anyway. Getting very frustrated indeed!
